Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Generator is a well known hostel chain, and has high standards. This is why I was surprised and a bit disappointed from the guest-experience that I had there. Stayed 7 nights in a 4 beds room (2 bunk beds). I must mention I'm in my 40's so I'm not a youth (but Generator is not a youth hostel). The room itself is very small. Packed with 4 ppl and all their suitcases and baggage - makes it quite uncomfortable for staying. Other details such as: the tiny sink, the shortage of hangers and the "smart" but not verry efficient system of the storage drawer, under the bunk: also contribute to the general inconvenience On the other hand: the mattress is comfortable, so as the pillow and the blanket. The room is being cleaned every day. Also: the pub, the live shows and the lobby with the sits in it - are indeed Cool. Breakfast is also fine (for 10 Euros, by the way). The location of the Hostel is great, in a new developed area, very close to the bus station to / from Airport and with walking distance to all Dublin's attractions.

BelgiumA little bit expensive for what it is with extra charges for anything while staying. Need to pay for ping pong, board games, tower visit (even if lift is not working)

SpainThe last night of my stay the other guests were noisy and it was a shame because otherwise it had been a good stay. I found the prices at the bar too expensive. And it could've been clearer on the website that you have to bring your own lock for the lockers in the room (cages under the beds). €6,5 is to expensive for a cheap lock but you're left with little alternative if you arrive late and the shops are closed. I felt that is taking advantage of us.
It was easy to check in and out. It was a nice gesture to give guests a goodie envelope for St Patrick's including a free ticket up the tower.

United StatesThings weren't as clean and fresh as they should. The place kind of smelled like a gym locker room not only in the rooms but in common areas. I understand it's a Hostle, but it seems like it needs some deep cleaning.
The location was great.

SwitzerlandYou need to pay for the luggage storage and to use all the games (ping pong, pool,...). depending on the hour it is difficult to find a clean toilet.
Reception was friendly. Beds were comfy and the room clean. There is just one hairdryer for all but was mostly free. You can rent a towel for 3€ at reception, as well as any other belonging you forgot.

IrelandI chose a room without a private bathroom, but I didn't think I would have to go to another floor. It was a little bit uncomfortable and unfortunately in my room was a really bad smell.
The hostel in general is cool and clean. The staff are nice. The food is good.

AustriaThe rooms need maintenance. At least oil the door hinges, I had to leave at 6am and every time I opened the bathroom door made a lot of noise. Also, you could perfectly rent an adapter plug cheaper, instead of selling them by 6Eur, it's a steal

United KingdomThe room was far too small for 8 people. Although the beds were comfortable. The lighting in the room was terrible, it was just dark with only one dim light. The location of the toilets being the floor below and down winding corridors was really terrible and actually quite undignified at times.
Great place with good vibes. Location was decent if you don't mind a 15 minute walk to temple district.
