Our stay in the Rathbaun Hotel was nothing short of perfect. From the moment we arrived we received a lovely welcome from Anna who got us checked in and gave us all the information we needed including reccomendations on things to do. Our room was so comfortable and spacious. The bed was AMAZING. It was hard to leave it in the mornings. The duvet and pillows were like being curled up on a cloud! Best sleep we have had in ages. There was bottles water / tea and coffee in the room. The breakfast was so tasty with plenty of options to suit any dietary needs. On the first night we had dinner at the hotel. My partner got the steak which he said was the "best meal" he's had all year (which to be fair has made me feel a bit bad about my home cooking but I don't blame him! It was delicious!!) There is live music every night from 7pm which is so entertaining and adds that extra level of charm to the stay. We will absolutely stay here again. It was fantastic value for money and the service we received from everyone was brilliant. If you are looking for a comfortable and affordable stay in Lisdoonvarna, you really need to look no further. I am so glad we chose this place to stay and it will be our hotel of choice whenever we decide to return. Thank you to Lynn, John, Anna, Tara and all the staff for making our weekend in the west that extra bit special.

The music was not quite up to what I remember it being.

Loved the people, the food, comradory, and the town.of Lisdoonvarna. Loved how Lyn and John have put themselves up to assist the Ukrainian people! I have watch as both of them taught many Ukrainians in the working of a hotel. And all done with the greatest of patience. It is a pleasure to count them as friends!

Tara was wonderful very friendly and helpful plenty of tea and coffee in the room and comfortable bed. Didn’t have breakfast! Had dinner sorry was ok but maybe was my choice of food. Would recommend it

How quite lisdonvarna is

Location is at least 10 minutes away by car from Doolin or any other point of Interest. This may not sound far, but we are talking very narrow country roads. Also, for some reason the beds didn't suit us and we didn't sleep the best.

It's a nice old fashioned hotel in Lisdoonvarna close to the football pitch where real local people have their games of Gaelic Football, at least one good restaurant and pub, and a convenience store.

You can see that this is a very busy small seasonal hotel that’s been in business a while. Smelled a tad musty as it just reopened for the season. But the desk manager was awesome.

The rooms are very outdated, smelt like mould, the one was dark, the extractor fan in the bathroom was loud and irritating. Despite the expensive rate it did not include breakfast. The food in the restaurant was expensive and not great.

They gave us a map. The staff were quite friendly and welcoming. Free parking across the road in the public parking lot.
