Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandBad experience. The staff are nice, but the beds are small and uncomfortable, there's no soundproofing so enjoy the sounds of people and cars all night long. Strange people sleeping here, they stole my pizza. Would not recommend staying more than one night. Only good thing is the price & discount from the apache shop down below

United KingdomNo use of a lift so if you have heavy luggage it can be difficult to navigate the stairs. As it is in the temple bar area, it is incredibly noisy throughout the night, I would advise taking ear plugs or using headphones. I found the bed to be comfortable and the facilities met my needs.

IrelandThere is no staff to receive you in conditions. On arrival we had to wait at reception for 5-10 minutes because there was no staff there, and to our surprise, we were served by the pizza man from Apache pizzeria. We asked him if there was a kitchen in the hostel and his answer was ‘I don't know’. Lack of professionalism. The fact that there is no one at reception meant that right in our room, a drunk man arrived at 2am, turned on the light and shouted at a friend of his who was in another room. As there is no one in charge of the reception, there is no one who can avoid these situations of disrespect towards people who want to rest.

IrelandThe smell that comes from the pizzeria on first floor os so strong though the whole building. The window in the room didnt open anything, it was blocked and we didnt know about this until arrive in the room. The shower on the bathroom was terrible, or it was too hot or too cold. On the next floor above us, we stay listening a fight between 4 people for around 2/3 hours, and none of the staff did anything. We note it was 4 people because we got out the room to see what was happening and we saw the four arguing.

FranceThe windows were leaking, the curtains did not make the room dark. So it was basically like you would sleep with open windows at the main road. It was freezing cold because just one heater worked. Even though I was the only person in the room, there was still stuff from the people before there. No kitchen, no common area. The smoking area was very slippery and frozen.
the room was very big

United KingdomI was checked in incorrectly and couldn’t find my room. Staff came into the entrance and shouted and talked loudly for hours in the night. The room was extremely hot with no windows or fresh air. I came back to the room and there was a man in the bed I was sleeping in. Bedding is provided but I’m not sure if it is changed. 4 men were in the ‘secure room’ within my room shouting during the night. I had to ask them to stop. They were not staying in the room. I think they were staff. There is no place to store belongings safely. I left a night early as I didn’t feel safe.
The location was fantastic. Close to a shop and fantastic pub called Norseman. Right in the centre of temple bar

SloveniaI didn’t expect luxury for the price, but this hostel was truly shocking. Cleanliness was non-existent—everything was dirty, smelly, and downright disgusting. The room itself was okay in size, but the window didn’t seal properly, so it was freezing cold and drafty all night. The bed was so filthy that I woke up puffy and uncomfortable every morning. The atmosphere was equally unsettling, with very strange guests who made the place feel more like a shelter than a hostel. It was impossible to feel relaxed or safe. Overall, this was by far the worst hostel experience I’ve ever had. Avoid at all costs!

IrelandThe Apache Hostel should be **regulated and closed down** due to its unacceptable conditions. The lack of cleanliness, cold temperatures, and absence of proper ventilation create an unhealthy environment for guests. This reflects poorly on the tourism industry in Ireland and Dublin, highlighting a need for stricter regulations and inspections. It's disappointing that such establishments can operate without adequate oversight, tarnishing the reputation of Ireland as a welcoming tourist destination. Immediate action is essential to ensure that all hostels meet basic health and safety standards for visitors.
I had a terrible experience at Apache Hostel. The place was **absolutely disgusting**—cold, dirty, and reeking of unpleasant odors. The lack of windows or proper ventilation made it feel claustrophobic and stuffy, which was unbearable. The bathrooms were filthy, and the overall hygiene was appalling. I felt unsafe and uncomfortable throughout my stay, and I strongly advise anyone considering this hostel to **avoid it at all costs**. It’s not worth the money or the health risks associated with such a neglected environment.

TaiwanDown stairs is a pizza restaurant and it’s so dirty when you go down and you can not have a good place to put your luggage or to take a rest. Because they don’t have lounge, so the only thing you can do when back to hostel is to stay at your room.
The location is really really good.
