Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandSome extra security with a code lock door to the first floor, but it's reasonable considering the locaton (Temple Bar). Also, there was noisy outside till a late time, but again, it's because of the location in the Dublin City Centre.
Everything is good for this money.

United States1. The beds were terribly uncomfortable. 2. The curtains are sheer and let in light all night long. 3. The bathrooms and facility smell like vomit. 4. The walls are so thin, you hear everything inside and outside of your room. Between the noise, light, and uncomfortable beds, we did not get any sleep.
1. Centrally located to the downtown area. 2. Clean enough.

AustraliaLocation. Busy area, we were concerned about staying on a weekend based on other reviews but we had no problem sleeping at all, street noise was nowhere as bad as we expected. We had our own room, which was small but cozy and most importantly clean! Shared bathroom looked quite recently renovated and was clean. - no issues there at all.

South AfricaI wouldn't recommend it for Solo female travelers at all ! Or anyone even No ventilation at all so EXTREMELY HOT during the summer as in 40° inside vs 28° outside. Keep in mind there is a pizza shop attached to it as well so it's a literal oven. No clear markings on where the hostel is situated, Then tried to call to ask where it may be and no response. No places to store valuables so I had to lock my stuff to my bed while I was gone during the day. Very friendly people however there was a language Barrier with the receptionist who couldn't speak proper English because I asked her if it's possible to change rooms to an all girls dorm cause I wasn't comfortable sleeping in a dorm full of middle aged dudes and she just dismissed me so i just sucked it up. No place to cook or eat meals. Microwave and kettle yes but what's the point if there is no clutlery or sink. I had to go over to the Pizza shop to sit down and eat meals cause there was nowhere to do so. Might as well spend an extra euro to be more comfortable and safe The night was awful! It was right next to a busy street and the whole night was honking, drunk people screaming and bottles being smashed. People also live in the guest rooms. Money wasted - one of the worst experiences of my life.

Italyit was the worst hostel i ever entered. Dirt, stench and a lot of mess. The reception which should be present 24 hours a day is almost never present. Security is at a minimum in fact there are no lockers to store things and it is adjacent to the back of the pizzeria of the same name, in fact they stole my hat and shoes..
there is not even 1 single positive thing

United KingdomLocation was perfect, right in the heart of Temple district, brilliant, no hassle getting to bed after a long night out. Room was small but had bunk beds and space to get ready with a desk. Shared bathroom was right next door, not many rooms per floor so no hassle getting access to get showered in the morning. For a place to stay over night while down in Dublin for a drink this was perfect. Apache pizza connected to building, open to 4am and you get a discount.

United KingdomBooked through Booking.com I screwed up my non refundable reservation for the wrong night. Realized it immediately and wanted to contact them to see if I could change to the correct night. I have a US phone # and was not going to make an international call from a roaming number. I sent 2 emails from booking site and 2 messages from their web site 'contact us' form over 2 days. It's been almost 20 days and nobody bothered to contact me. I had to forfeit my payment. I might be able to accept that, if they were not willing to accommodate my mistake. But the inability to easily reach someone to even ask questions about their policy, along with no response to email is unacceptable. Don't provide a means to contact, if you aren't going to respond to it. It's stupidly easy to set up a WhatsApp account. Many business provide that means for international customers to reach them. This place can't be bothered. Might be a really nice place. But since they don't care about international customers, I wouldn't suggest anyone take their chances with them.
I can't say there is anything to like about the Apache hotel. I had an issue with my reservation and I had no way of reaching them except an international phone call I was not willing to make. So I was unable to stay there.
