Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis was the smallest room we have stayed in outside of Tokyo. At £233 per night it was just not big enough for a couple to stay in for more than one very cramped night and is probably the worst value room we have ever stayed in. Our room was opposite the staff room and so constant coming and going from early in the morning. The air conditioning only just kept up with the outside temperature of about 25c and I hate to think what such a tiny room would be like in very hot weather.
Staff at reception were really friendly and helpful. We dropped our bags off a little early and they were waiting for us in the room when it was ready. The rooftop restaurant is ok and a pleasant place for lunch. The take away coffee and pastries at the front of the hotel were great quality. The surrounding area is nice, with a park 5 minutes away and lots of pubs and restaurants available. We stayed here for a gig at the RDS arena and this was a pleasant and safe feeling 25 minute walk away.

United KingdomI was told I was getting a free “upgrade”. It was just an accessibility room which had a bathroom which had nowhere to place my things and we asked to be moved to the room we paid for. We also wanted to have a drink at the rooftop bar however it was closed and we were able to access the rooftop bar. This should have been communicated before we arrived so we could stay somewhere else. This is the second time I’ve stayed here but it will be the last. The room “upgrade” was insulting and we didn’t have access to the facilities that were advertised. When I told the receptionist they just shrugged his shoulders and say sorry the upstairs bar is closed for a private event

United KingdomThis is my Claim to the Booking.com regarding the Devlin Hotel below. Dear Sirs, I demand a full refund for my no-stay in Devlin Dublin no-star hotel because the hotel room doesn't match the description on Booking.com, poor quality and it is no-stars Fraud hotel ! The reasons: 1. the room has neither a wardrobe nor a clothes rack at all. I had no chance to iron my shirts and trousers and leave them hanging because of no place and no rack for it. Absolute absence of the hangers, racks or even a place for clothes in the Room ! In the Booking.com description there are both racks and the wardrobe clearly stipulated. On practice none of those ! I arrived at the Conference meetings and needed to have a smart look but the Devlin Hotel gives no chance for it. 2. The bed is built into the niche, so three sides of the bed are limited on dimensions and the size by three walls. No chance for me to fit into that coffin-type bed. There was nothing about it in the description or on photos. 3. the room is so small that I immediately felt anxiety and the lack of the air to breeze. It is my very 1st such experience in life and you can check my log onto booking.com about how much do I travel ! 4. Booking.com shows it is 4* hotel. On practice it is no stars hotel and is an absolute fraud. I spoke to the Hotel Manager and he politely accused me that it is me who didn't read the description on booking.com properly and his hotel is not a 4* at all. It is his personal view of the 4* design he thinks the hotel has ! So, the Hotel Manager told me he will charge me for just one night which I have never stayed so I left the Hotel immediately. I left it angry, without the money refund and nowhere to go to. You can see on a booking.com system that I immediately booked another hotel in Dublin exactly for the same dates and moved into the Clayton Burlington road Hotel nearby. I demand all my money back from those Fraudsters of the Devlin hotel. Please kindly react. Thank you.
Location and the Description at Booking.com that is not true.

IrelandAll our rooms were exceedingly small, poorly designed for seniors, lack of hanging space, only 1 small stool to sit on, overpriced junk food and products in rooms, our room overlooked extractors. Bathroom was not well designed, dual flush faulty (reported). TV erratic reception. Well stocked fridge overpriced though. Shower stall floor was a bit grimy as were floor tiles. No toilet brush or ventilator fan. Breakfast service poor, inattentive and in general that whole area was cold. Two drinks (€13) wrongly billed but was deducted from final bill. Parking was a 5 minute walk away at €15. Only realised after our room entry that we had booked a Dean group hotel - our stay at the Dean in Cork was similarly poor, staff there almost unfriendly to OAP's but at least there was a pool & gym and parking.
Dinner in Layla's rooftop restaurant exceeded my expectation though inside room was really cold. Food was well prepared and my Hake was excellent, my family all enjoyed their choices. Limited wine list and a tad overpriced but it was Dublin, friendly staff. We had 5 bottles of average wine and plenty of cocktails. €€€. Good security access to bedroom floors. Reception staff very friendly and helpful.

IrelandThe building itself isn't that good. Noise isolation is extremely bad. Everything interrupted my sleep: outside noise because of bad windows soundproof, upper-floor footsteps, and even the neighbor's soap dispenser. Also missed attention to some equipment details like the kettle with an EU plug without an EU socket in the room.
Comfortable, well-equipped room. Very nice hotel atmosphere and amazing overall design.

IrelandRoom was just too small for two people. Noisy overnight but not unexpected given it was a Saturday night in December. Staff in bar wouldn’t allow us to sit and have a drink before we went out for dinner. Definitely prioritizing parties ahead of guests. We went back after dinner for a drink in residents bar and the bar man was really rude. Staff at reception were courteous however.
Great location. Nice decor.

Irelandroom as down graded , was given 2 x drink vouchers and could not use them at the bar as I did not have a table reserved . I told the bar staff I would only be there 30 mins . Place was empty and they would not give me table. I have used this hotel 4/5 times already this year and have another 3 rooms booked for the 15th of December.

CanadaThe room was ridiculously small. No where for the luggage. No where to put clothes. No where in the bathroom to put cosmetics etc. smacked my head on the bunk bed. Very awkward to get in and out of bed. Bedding only came half way up the bed. Ironically it was a room for 3 but there is no way a third person would have fit in. Based on this the room price was way too high.

Switzerlandsize of my room! the room has 4 places to sleep (one big bed and two single beds) and literally no space for the luggage. There were 3 of us - two adulds + and we struggle to move there. It's impossible to be there in 4 people. In the bathroom were only two towel hangers. It's not enough even for a group of 3 people like us.
