The room needs true blackout curtains given the price of the room. They were thin and did little. At breakfast you had to pay for espresso and other strong coffee although the brewed coffee was like tea. We were used to getting coffee drinks included with inclusive breakfast throughout Europe. Given the cost of the rooms, it seems a bit petty. Not their fault, but every taxi we ordered through the hotel came 10-15 minutes late.

Amazing location and staff. It was expensive but Iceland is very expensive overall! Very kind about offering room service items like milk and extra coffee, and really helpful at the front desk.

Room wasn’t cleaned properly even when cleaning requested. Like much of Iceland things were overpriced.

I had a courtyard view rather than overlooking the square but it was fine since I wasn't spending much time in the room. Breakfast wasn't included but I ate at a nearby delightful coffee shop/restaurant called "Hressingarskalinn" instead.

I stayed in a standard single room. The bed was somewhat narrow but fine for one person. The room had a sizable closet with hangers and shelves, a desk and chair, a nightstand and easy chair, and was fine for a short visit. The room was very clean (if you wanted housekeeping during your stay you need to request that at the front desk) and the bathroom was in very good condition. The staff were helpful with printing my boarding pass and I took advantage of the luggage delivery service advertised in the elevator (for a price) for transporting my suitcase to the airport, so I didn't have to lug it on the bus. That worked out well (the staff made the arrangements with the delivery company) and I thought it was worth it. The hotel location is on one of the main squares and had many restaurants and shops nearby, including a food hall with lots of different cuisines just a block away. The wifi worked well. The hotel is very close to one of the main city bus stops which is convenient for catching the bus to/from the main depot from which the larger buses to the airport, Blue Lagoon etc. depart.

Breakfast was not so great. Relatively poor food presentation for the price. Beds were a bit small, but again more european style.

Great location, amazing rainwater shower. Small rooms (european) but fine. The breakfast is so-so. Ok but not high-end. There are many places to eat outside the hotel that are in walking distance so I would take advantage of that. If you are doing excursions other than the Northern Lights secure breakfast at the hotel as you will be leaving early. Overall it was a good stay. Staff was super nice and helpful. I would recommend.

We chose to not have a clean one morning due to Aurora hunting the night before and we thought that we would have a clean later but didn’t- quick chat with reception and all sorted. So not really a problem

Loved our stay at The Borg Hotel, beautiful hotel and room. Location was excellent very close to a lovely selection of bars and restaurants and a convenience shop, yet the area was very quiet no noise from the street. Our room was on the 5th floor and had a great view out over the city so we saw lots of fireworks during our stay for little Christmas. Bus stop 3 for tour pick up was just around the corner. The hotel and room were very clean, staff were very friendly and helpful with booking airport transfer. Looking forward to returning in the future!

The bar should be open on a Monday and Tuesday too. The lift waiting times were also very long.

The bar across the road played very loud music that could be easily heard from our room. Fresh milk in the from for tea/coffee would be nice
