Extremely convenient location. Free parking outside of the hostel. Self check in if you arrive late at night. There is the choice of getting a private room-you just have to share the bathroom and the toilets. Clean,warm rooms and a very big kitchen with dining area Overall,it’s a good value for money

Felt a bit abondoned and could use some renovations at points.

Kitchen and most bathrooms were fine. Checkin was easy and without problems, the same goes for the checkout.

It would have been better if tea and coffee were provided as we bought some and it was taken by another group who were there.

There was underfloor heating which was a god send after a day out in the cold. The rooms were comfortable and the clean and the price was fantastic. The location was brilliant in a gorgeous town. I had a slight issue when we arrived and the owner contacted me straight away to resolve it. The kitchen facilities are fantastic.

The house is terribly dirty, the water from the shower and taps stinks, the renovation is poor, the bed linen was dirty and there was black hair on it (I'm blonde), all the dishes in the kitchen are dirty, the staff is very unfriendly, when I asked if there was coffee or tea in home, they told me that there were leftovers from previous guests. I will never return here and do not recommend it to anyone, for the price they offer you can find a place with at least cleanliness and order.

Room for 109: Bad smell, Olde furniture. Dirty bed, under the bed and on the walls. A big bugg or an insect crawling on my sheets made me stand up and call the number provided but no answer. Send photos and videos and no answer. Was travelling for work and could barely sleep. Showers were dirty and towels are way too small for an adult. Finally in the morning got an answer and changed room. Could not sleep with the noise of teenagers until 1am. Asked for a refund for the 1st night but got just ironic comments. I don’t recommend This hostel at all.

The stay at Selfos Hostel was very enjoyable. Very nice service, very good contact with the owner. I highly recommend. Very clean and well-kept rooms.

Room was too small. Showers were not very clean. We never saw any staff members. We had reserved a 2 bed room and had a one bed room.

Breakfast was not offered.

The owner refused to help us when we arrived and the room we booked was not what was on the app. My business partner and I booked a room with two beds and we received only 1. When asked for a solution we were told that’s just how it is sometimes.

There is a weird smell in the complete hostel. The kitchen was extremely unkempt.

There was a large kitchen with everything. The showers were bigger than normal. The room we were in (5 beds) was comfortable and spacious. Easy to find and lots of parking. Check-in and check-out were made easy. Heating in the room worked fine.

Very basic. No ventilation in the rooms. You could hear the other guests quite well.

Good location in Selfoss, parking on the back side not so convenient. In front better but was full when we arrived. Plenty of toilets in the halls (not in rooms).

It was incredibly noisy at night with inconsiderate visitors partying on both nights we were there . There were no staff seen at anytime. It was unmonitored. The bottom floor we stayed on smelt like sewerage , some bathrooms were good and some were mouldy.

The beds were comfortable and it was great to have kitchen access. Easy to find and instructions for self check in were good.

The facility is not well maintained, the room smells. The cleanliness need some improvements, floor in kitchen and bathroom often flooded with water.

I absolutely loved the location. Close enough to bus stop and nice coffee shop. The staff were fantastic - super helpful and kind. It’s really all you need for a great trip in Iceland.

Very good position in the center of Selfoss. Room was an amazing private bed (with good common bathroom and kitchen), which resulted to be very comfortable.

Toilets are in terrible condition. Floded, dirty and smelly. Property is very noise, thin walls and you can hear people in the room next to you. No staff to complain, noisy guests late i. To the night.

The only good thing was location and relativelly low price.

Perfect place to rest if you are traveling in the area without having to go sell a kidney ehhehe. Staff is nice and helpful. Thank you Alda for the help with my mistake booking the wrong dates and letting me sleep for 1 more hour :) Spacious room with a double bed. Nice views to the neighbourhood. Sink in the room. Very confortable bed! Was sharing 2 full bathrooms with 4 or 5 rooms, everything was nice and clean. Doors can be a little bit noisy but after everyone went to bed is complete silence. Highly recomend Selfoss Hostel, i will come back for sure. Very good value for money!
