Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaBit small and cramped. Location of PowerPoint's could have been better and more hooks to hang things since its such a small room.

ChinaFirst of all, the boss was very friendly. Their dogs and cats were also very cute. The rooms were very clean and tidy, and the kitchen was well-equipped for cooking. The only drawback was that the bedding in the rooms was very damp.

AustraliaFacilities were a bit run down for the price we paid compared to others we stayed at (incl another in Vik). This was last minute so they may have bumped the price up.
We stayed here 1 night at last minute so I think we got the worst room. It was very squishy and cold - but we booked it at 2pm so probably not enough time to heat it. 1 bathroom with 1 toilet (is in same room) on ground floor wasn't enough. We waited over an hour. But other bathrooms upstairs. Very basic compared to what we'd booked 8 months prior in Iceland even though price was same. But this was last minute and the only room left in Vik because of the storm.

RomaniaThe price was a bit to high for a hostel, given the fact that you have to share the bathroom with others.
The room was clean and we both had separate beds, which was even more confortable. I enjoyed the social place and the fact that the kitchen was provided with everything we needed.

United Arab EmiratesWe placed our food away from the sharing section of the communal shelf in the fridge, this is the top shelf. It is clearly marked and the signs tell you what to do. We placed our food in a corner on the lowest shelf and our food was stolen. We wished we had a postit or something to out a note to not touch as it's not for sharing. I went for a shower and forgot my necklace on the side of the wash basin. When I realised and went back to collect it, it was already taken. This is not the owners fault. Just to be mindful to future guests that hostels get all types of people and to keep your possessions close and locked up.
It is so close to the black beach and it's surrounded by mountains and the ocean. Very beautiful. The bed and bedding was clean and super comfy. I slept so well. I like the no shoes inside rule. Pack a pair of slippers/flipflops. The owner is very friendly and the view from our room was so pretty. The animals on the property are super sweet too.

IndiaWe booked an economy bunk bed for four on the second floor, which meant we had to haul our luggage up the stairs. The Wi-Fi modem in our room didn't work for both days, but after reaching out to the property in the morning, we were able to access the Wi-Fi on the first floor, although it was quite slow and not very usable. My friends struggled a bit with ventilation in room. We arrived on a rainy day, which made it tricky to dry our soaked gear—some space for that would have been helpful.
The view from the location was lovely! On clear days, you could see the ocean, and the pets were very friendly and eager to play with us—we all adored them. The bunk bed was comfortable, heater worked, slept like a baby. The shared kitchen had all the utensils, amenity we needed, along with some grocery items to enhance our meals. There was plenty of parking available. The shoe dryer and regular dryer were saviors.

HungaryOne more shower would be nice, because it was occupied all the time. The common areas were really cold.
It was the cutest hostel in which we ever stayed. The common areas were perfect, we could also cook and have some time with others. The view was beautiful from our rooms. We also really enjoyed the company of the cat, dogs, chickens and ducks.

United KingdomJust be careful on the driveway up to the hostel as it is quite uneven and there are a couple of holes that could damage your tyres.
