Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWi-fi was a little choppy. We liked that area fine, but Ueno is not right at the heart of most of the tourist attractions, so we had some long subway rides.
The room was very comfortable, and fairly spacious, especially when we folded up the sofa bed. It wasn't like a fancy hotel as much as a clean mini-apartment. We didn't use the stove (since little noodle shops and mini-markets made eating out so easy) but it was convenient having a fridge and being able to make breakfast and coffee. The bathroom (separate rooms for bath and for the toilet) were clean, new, and worked well. To be honest, the high-tech toilet was fantastic, and we'll have a hard time living without one back here in the US.

Hotel gave us some free cup noodle, those are really nice noodle, especially the curry flavor one. Very good location, there is a small grocery store 1 minute walk from the hotel. so you can buy some food and cook in the hotel. very close to the sky liner which take you to the airport, 2000 yen per person, 50 minutes. night life is great here, lots of food options at night, thousands of locals come eat at probably 200-300 restaurants nearby on the street mostly. I love the atmosphere.

United StatesPillows were hard. There is a light near the door that can't be turned off. I was trying to work at the table and it kept going off and on.
Clean room and a nice space. We had the family suite.

SingaporeIt is an apartment hotel, so don’t expect the usual hotel service. You will be requested to fill up an online form prior to your arrival (instead of having the hotel reception to do it for you). Room cleaning not available everyday and you will need to handle (and separate) your own trash. They have a 24-hour reception so you can request for towels or luggage deposit.
One of the few good choices in my opinion on the eastern side of Tokyo for longer stays. Relatively new hotel. Sizeable room (by Tokyo standards) and big beds to accommodate more than two. Apartment facilities such as cooking stoves, washing machine (comes with washing detergent), and clothes dryer (use the one in the bathroom - everything you wash will be dry overnight). There is an English manual in the room to teach you how to use the appliances. 5 minutes walk to food and shopping street. 5 minutes walk via sky bridge to Ueno Station, which is a major transportation hub for Shinkansen and local trains (2 stops to Akihabara, 3 stops to Asakusa, 7 stops to Ginza). 5 minutes walk to the Keisei-Ueno Station, which is connected directly to the Narita Airport via the Skyliner.

PhilippinesNothing major except for the small room size which is common in Tokyo. Overall, Hotel Aima is a very excellent place to stay especially for families with young kids like us.
- The rooms are clean and well equipped with kitchen appliances, utensils, washing machine, humidifier, toiletries, towels etc... - The front desk people especially the nice lady who checked us in is very accommodating, helpful and friendly. Same with the young man who is on duty in the afternoon. - The location is very accessible to Ueno station which makes it a good base for travelling around Downtown Tokyo (Shibuya, Shinjuku, Omote-sando, Roppongi and Ginza area) plus very near the Kesei Skyliner station going to and from the Narita Airport. - very near the shopping areas in Ueno and Ameyoko food and shopping street.

New ZealandAs this is a Tokyo Hotel. we didn't expect more than what we got - there is no communal lounge area or onsen. But this was not a problem as we were only in Tokyo for 2-3 nights. Very easy to walk to the train station, Ueno Park/temple.
The location was why we booked this hotel. It was a short walk to Ameyoko Street - lots of food outlets - lively at night. The hotel was an 8 minute walk from Ueno Train Station.

PhilippinesI would have liked to have the possibility to have breakfast at the hotel, but there is not facility and for the high price of the room, I find this is missing. There is no staff welcoming you at the front desk, but it has to be called through a bell. To be said is that they come immediately when called and they are nice, but the sensation is not that welcoming and warm since nobody is present when you arrive at the hotel.
As a family of 5 for us it's always difficult to find a room spacious enough and the room at Hotel Aima was perfect. Location, I would chose it again and again, since Ueno station is at a few minutes walking distance and from there you can take public transports to move around all Tokyo. The neighborhood is lively, full of restaurants and cafes. The hotel is not on a main road so very quiet. The room has all the comforts, including little kitchen with microwave, water boiler for coffee or tea.

Comfy beds, great location just 2 mins walk from the subway station exit 3 ueno station. A lot of food stalls, grocery and convenient stores nearby too. Daily cleaning is not available but you can always get fresh towels and water from the 24H hotel counter. Washing machine in the room is very helpful, and the ventilation in the bathroom can dry clothes overnight.
