Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI didn’t like how there was so many people offering sexual favors whenever we went out at night so close to the hotel cuz we experienced this every night however that’s not the hotels problem maybe just a location issue. And we were told when booking about the tattoo issue for the onsen however I would’ve loved to experience it.
I liked how close we were to so many things to do. And the room was very clean at all times. I would definitely stay here again.

AustraliaHad to climb across the bed to get in - the room was so small only one of us could move around at a time and the bathroom was so small the door could not be shut when using the toilet. The room would be OK for a single but hopeless for a double.
The location was very good with plenty of eating places nearby. They also stored our luggage free of charge on the day we checked out.

AustraliaCheck in is a little difficult. Yes the rooms are a little small but you can make it work. The pillows were quite uncomfortable.
Location is everything. Just enough away from the noise but still in a safe and convenient neighbourhood. Right by train stations and convenience stores. The bathrooms were fantastic.

AustraliaThe ridiculous check in and check out times. You check in at 3pm, and have to check out at 10am, which seems a bit cruel. The rooms were very small, just big enough to not be cramped. Even though I booked a room with the view, I was placed in the west building, room 1402, and the view was subpar at best. The bathroom was ridiculously tiny and cramped, when I sat down on the toilet, I could barely have my legs out or they'd press against the door and hurt my knees. The bath itself was also small (but deep), so I couldn't really enjoy a proper bath. The bed itself was big, but the pillows were uncomfortable. For a premiumish hotel, with relatively high prices (spent 3k+ for 10 nights), I'd expect nicer pillows. The covers had slight dirt or rubbish on them as well, but i didn't want to make any complaints. The house keeping staff are also very intrusive and don't respect your privacy, they will knock on your door regardless of what time, and if you don't respond, they instantly try to come in. One of them came in as I was changing, and I had to push the door closed and lock it, and tell them to come back later. From then on I had the doors locked and blocked off so they couldn't come in. A very disappointing housekeeping service, felt very rushed too. They didn't even make the bed properly, the sheets were clearly the same sheets as before, and the blankets were put on the wrong way as well. Another thing, with the washing machine, it takes $5 per use to use it, you're better off going to the laundry mat next door and using their machines, it costs $3 there (keep in mind the hotel only has like three machines, whilst the laundry place has about 5-6) very disappointed, considering the hotel has so many rooms. I hope they read this thorough review and pass it onto the relevant departments so they can improve.
I liked the location, the staff were helpful, and the food at the restaurant was very nice.

AustraliaThe room size is limited and small. However we understand this is a Tokyo problem and not just this hotel. If a couple where even if one individual is 6 feet tall or more may struggle to sleep comfortably on the bed together with their partner.

United StatesDidn't know there were so many APA hotels in Tokyo, got a bit confused trying to find ours.
Great location, central to various different trains options to get around all of the city. Clean room every day and loved the traditional bath option. We used that multiple times on our trip and was perfect on cold days after walking around.
