Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceSecond time staying at that hotel. The compact room has everything one may needs, the bed is very comfortable. Location is great and despite Kabuki-cho being a touristy spot, the area is very quiet at night.

United StatesThe rooms were extremely small, which I did not realize from the pictures. If you are sharing your room with someone, you better like them because you are not getting ANY space from eachother.
Great location, super clean, and the public bath was amazing. I love that they give you yakata to wear around as well!

United StatesNot much, they only give me one key per person, have to always go back to front desk if I forget my key, and then once they have you a new key only the newest one works, and if you forget about that and left the room with the old key you'd have to get a new key again...
Great staff, locations, spa is awesome and much needed, luggage check-in during check-out is super helpful.

United StatesAbsurdly small room. We stayed in another APA hotel in Asakusa and also reserved a double room that was listed as the same size as the one in Shinjuku. unfortunately, this room was much smaller. Almost no room to move around. you check in in the lobby on a computer and the staff don’t really provide any service. When we were there (over Christmas break) mist of the guests seemed to be foreigners. Had more of youth hostel vibe. The bag check was ok.
It was clean. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was correct.

United StatesThe laundry machines are low quality. They take too long to dry, to the point where my wife gave up. We instead went to a laundromat on the same block and it was cheaper and quicker. We also found the constant bags of amenities to be wasteful. We really didn't need one every day of a two week stay. They started to just take up space. I think they should be like the housekeeping where you request it or get it automatically every few days.
Perfect location. The view from the top floor was amazing. It's very worth paying extra for that room. Check-in was quick and storing our bags on our last day before our flight was quick, convenient, and free. Many convenient businesses are nearby and also close to multiple train stations for easy travel around the city.

United StatesBathroom was a bit too small for my 6 foot husband. Property was a bit too far from the train station with a family to haul around. Also I didn’t know it was the entertainment district nearby so lots of bars with photos of girls. It was fine for my teenage kids but probably not ideal for family with younger kids. Plus I was woken up at 3am by drunk people as they stumble home. Bring earplugs to help you sleep during jet lag.
Our family of 4 took 2 basic rooms. We had a comfortable bed and all the necessary amenities (hot water for tea/coffee, blow dryer, slippers, onset outfit, toiletries) with free movies on TV. Breakfast buffet was tasty for 2,500 yen. Property location was walkable to multiple train stations. We took the bus from the airport that dropped off at Shinjuku station so it was a good 20 minute walk with luggages. There was one other bus that would have been closer but we would have to wait longer at airport to catch it. Taking the subway would have been another option but we were too tired from our long flight to navigate tickets and transfers.
