Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SlovakiaRoom is quite small but it's okay for the short stay. We asked at the reception about public transport tickets but they didn’t help us at all.
The location, the bed was comfortable. The room had the view to Tokyo Sky Tree

CanadaCleanliness was great but there could be areas for improvement such as the corners are dusty, behind the toilet floor there was a little bit of hair left behind. Another reviewer had mentioned the drainage smelling which I found true about day 4 in to my stay although the quick fix was to leave the fan in the washroom on high and not low.
Staff (front desk and cleaners) was super nice and attentive as usual.

AustraliaOnly 2 washing machines and 2 dryers. Quite often found people leave their washing in the machines for hours after finished, meaning nobody else can use the machines. Spoke to staff, they said sorry can't do anything because machines were locked. Very frustrating having to wait hours and leave room to go to lobby multiple times to check if the people bothered to remove them yet.
Fantastic staff, great location, very close to Asakusabashi station, surrounded by convenience stores which was great, walkable to Akihabara and Asakusa too. Vending machine and change machine in lobby's laundry room.

SingaporeThe only downside is the price per night, but that’s about the normal price in Tokyo.
The staff were exceptionally helpful with all my requests. I love the location too - there is a JR and subway station nearby! I was also lucky to get a corner room, although small, was also amazingly comfortable. The noise insulation is also good, didn’t hear a thing from next door.

HungaryThe level of cleanliness was below expectations. I've never been in such a hotel in Japan. There were sticky, flowing dirt on the bathroom walls (especially across the toilet seat, I can only imagine its origin...) and the carpet was not vacuumed, not before or during the days we've been there. Some bathroom parts (like the shower holder) was loose, it's quite easy and free to fix with a screwdriver (which I didn't have with me), but it feels like it was neglected for months/years beforehand. The rooms should be inspected once in a while to spot easily fixable things like this. Also, multiple times the cleaning team forgot to stock up on our amenities, sometimes they even forgot to bring back our yukatas, especially when we asked for a clean-up. I got a feeling that they lack the ability to see the needs of the guests.
The location was convenient - it was walkable from the main attraction, yet quiet. Even the room's soundproofing was great, I couldn't hear any noises from the neighbours.

United KingdomVery small rooms but this is often the norm in Japan, but still well equipped and comfortable.
The beds had recently been replaced and were the most comfortable beds we slept on the whole holiday. The breakfast was a choice of three - all seemed very nice, and certainly got enough. The location was excellent.

SwedenVery nicely placed hotel, our room had Tokyo Skytree view. Very good service and flexible staff. The room was a bit ‘tired’ with damaged wallpaper, scratched furniture, noisy fridge. The laundry dryer needs at least 2 hours to dry the clothes. Other than that, nice location (close to JR and subway) and overall it’s a great value for money.

Simple and clean with all the facilities you need. Very convenient location. Breakfast was great and definitely worth paying extra for, if you are into Japanese breakfast, which I am.

United StatesMy bathroom wasn't the cleanest and even after inspection nothing was done. I'm not sure where the smell was coming from since the toilet and tub was fine.
