Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandIncredible tiny room. The smallest I've stayed in my whole trip to Japan. The bed mattress is soft and uncomfortable. 🙁
The neighborhood is quiet at night but just next to train station hub and with a Mall within 5 walking minutes. Staff was lovely.

IndiaRooms are very small (with all the facilities, but very small). Check out time is 10 am (a bit early, 11 would be nice)
Location is excellent. Hotel is decent. No discomfort.

GermanyBecause of this experience, I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again, despite the rest of the stay being generally OK. One day, I ordered food via Uber Eats to the hotel and, since I don't speak Japanese, I asked the front desk for help calling the restaurant to check if the order had been dispatched. The answer was: "Sorry, Uber Eats is an external service, we cannot help." I explained that I just needed someone who spoke Japanese to make a quick call, but they repeatedly refused. I understand it's an external service, but it was disappointing that they wouldn't assist a guest who clearly needed basic language support. This made me wonder how they would respond in a more critical situation. 🤷🏻
The hotel is in a great location — away from the crowds of Akihabara but just a short walk from JR and metro stations. There are numerous restaurants and izakayas in the area, offering options to suit every budget. The room is medium-sized compared to other hotels in Japan, and the elevated bed is very convenient for storing luggage without taking up space. It also includes a mini fridge, hair dryer, and electric kettle. Towels and pajamas are provided almost daily. The air conditioning works well, and the TV displays useful information, such as cleaning schedules (every 3 days) and package deliveries. Overall, the staff is friendly, helpful, and attentive — though there was one issue that bothered me, which I’ll explain in the “What I didn’t like” section.

United StatesI have stayed here 3 times and other than the pillows being a bit hard there is nothing else I don't like about this hotel.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was off the beaten path so not much noise at night.

SingaporeThe bed and pillows were a bit uncomfortable. APA pillows tend to be weird (to my taste), and the bed is always a bet (the mattress often feels uneven).
One of the best of the APA chain. The hotel appears to be very new, or at least newly renovated, so everything looks fresh. The staff was super polite. Everything is super clean, well-explained, and well-organised. Location is insane: 2 minutes walking to the nearest entrance to the Hibiya line, and 5-10 minutes to Akihabara station. The neighbourhood is super lively and pretty. Many eateries and convenience stores around.

CyprusNothing in particulars.
Considering all rooms on Tokyo are small, we were expecting a small room. However it was comfortably organised, with many toiletries and pyjamas. The location was very good, near the stations and many amenities. The stuff was very friendly, kind and helpful. They arranged for our bags to be delivered to our next hotel and even notified us we forgot one bag in our room and arranged to get it returned to us.

NetherlandsThe one elevator might not be enough when the hotel is full, but fair concidering the price. Please try to add English subtitles for the Japanese VOD titles, no dealbreaker but would add extra convienance for all foreign tourists.
Good value for money for the location. Free VOD service with nice current titles. Free limited breakfast on a external location. Great support for the baggage delivery service.

GermanyNo facilities at all, not even a laundry room. Also, breakfast is just silly: you pay 1000 yen extra, and they tell you to walk 10 mins to some coffee shop, only to get a sandwich and a bowl of cheap soup. Not a big deal though: just don't pay for breakfast, and you'll be good.
Just regular APA hotel, clean and neat.

United KingdomThe only bad thing I can say about this hotel is the rooms are small, but it's completely manageable especially as we were out exploring most of the day and we were expecting the room to be small when we booked so it wasn't a surprise. The bed wasn't amazingly comfortable, but we were always tired from walking around the city all day!
This hotel far exceeded my expectations as one of the cheaper places. It was so clean, fresh towels everyday and the room was cleaned every 2 days. We were supplied with toiletries, even razors and toothbrushes. The hotel had a little shop downstairs along with a microwave and ice machine. It was just 5mins away from Akihabara station, perfect for exploring Tokyo, yet very quiet at night. The staff were so lovely and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

United StatesThe room was very small, the bathroom was cramped but I knew that when I booked it. It forced me to spend more time out, site seeing, and mainly slept in the room. It's good for a solo traveler for a couple days. They have bigger rooms for a higher rate.
Easy walk to the heart of Akihabara with lots of eateries nearby. There's a cute cafe and park around the corner with Sakura blooming. The room was very quiet even though it was next to the elevator. The whole facility was clean and the lobby food shop was a lifesaver when I arrived past midnight.

New ZealandI did not like the that there was no room service and the rubbish was not collected, we stayed 3 nights and the rubbish bins overflowed and were not emptied, this was not pleasant. I did not like the breakfast that was included was out of the hotel at Doutor a 5 minute walk; there was not notification of this prior to booking, if I knew I would not have paid extra to include breakfast.
The location was good for us, it was close to the train station and the trains to the main attractions were way to connect too.
