Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIf you smoke cigarettes it is difficult to find a place nearby especially during the day. The entire hotel property is non-smoking (which of course is a plus if you do not smoke because many hotels in Japan allow smoking in the rooms etc)
Fantastic location. Close to train/subway with lots of food options and shopping areas nearby. Not all APA hotels are created equal - this one is by far the best one I’ve stayed at. Helpful professional staff with a beautiful lobby area. They even have a self service convenience store in the lobby area - one catch is that you cannot use cash nor regular credit card because the machine only accepts Japanese digital payment system. No problem though because you can get a Pasmo or Suica IC card at any train or subway station machines - highly recommend this card as you can use for transit, many vending machines and even some services like lockers etc. This hotel location makes it easy to catch the train or subway to many famous Tokyo districts. I will be back at this hotel in the future for sure.

PortugalThe English level of some of the receptionists. Sometimes it was very challenging to communicate and a translator was needed. Changing towels and extras every day didn't make it environmentally friendly. The room although comfortable was very small.
The location. The bed and the room itself were also comfortable and the towels and extras were replaced every day. The receptionists were also kind and helpful.

SlovakiaBeing a light-sleeper and by open window, the noise from the streets can be a bit disturbing sometimes - but that's expected from Akihabara so I don't consider it a downside in this case and overall the stay was great.
The location was very good, near the JR station and good for travel trips around Tokyo. Place is super clean, room equipment perfect, and all is very modern and automatized - the personell was kind to help with the self check-in and luggage storage after check-out.

AustraliaHotel was very convenient in the heart of the city of Akihabara. Location was very good. Room was clean. The only thing that made it low score for me is that the cooling and heating could not be altered as it was mentioned on elevator and inside room that it is central heating for the whole hotel and they adjust is accordingly with the outside temperature but what I noticed was even if outside was cold, the room temperature got to the high 20s, 25-29 degrees Celsius. For me, I get hot and sweat very easily so most nights I was drenched in sweat due to the high room temp which could not be adjusted at all. If I had known this earlier due to my condition, I would have not chose this hotel. Price was very expensive for 10 nights equaling around 1.9k aud, prob likely due to close to the cherry blossom time but for a 3 star hotel it’s way too expensive.

United StatesThe toilet was too close to the wall in the bathroom which made me have to sit at an angle. Additionally there was no where to place my luggage to unpack. I had resorted to using the completely unnecessary desk chair. The property was a Pepsi property which made their "convenience" store not very convenient. The store needs more variety.
Room was laid out well, controls were available to control all lighting in the room from bed. Every thing was very accessible from the bed. Storage for baggage under the bed was sufficient.

IrelandThe breakfast was not in the hotel but a place outside (you had to walk 300m), and they did not have any vegetarian options, and even with the meaty options were very limited.
The location of this hotel is perfect, right in the heart of Akihabara, place well known for animes. Free toiletries, water, ice and microwave in the lobby. They have a mini mart in the lobby as well for some essentials.

IsraelThe rooms are extremely small to an unacceptable degree. Additionally, we tried to get help from the hotel with various services typically offered to tourists, such as making a phone call to customer service for a canceled flight or storing our luggage for a few days while we were out of the city. Our requests were consistently denied, even when we offered to pay for these services. The lack of assistance was disappointing for a hotel catering to travelers.
A pleasant and friendly hotel in a convenient location in Tokyo. The rooms, however, are extremely small.

ZimbabweThe extremely small room size, even though I understand it's common in Tokyo. Limited housekeeping - they didn't change our bedding or clean the room daily, only leaving clean towels in a bag on our door. Inflexible check-in policy - despite our room being ready earlier, they charged 1000 yen per hour for early check-in before the official 3 PM time.
The hotel was decent overall - renovated, modern, and clean. However, the rooms were extremely small, though I understand this is common in Tokyo. Daily housekeeping was limited; they didn't change our bedding or clean the room daily, but left clean towels in a bag on our door. When we arrived in the morning to check in, despite the room being available, they wouldn't allow early check-in unless we paid 1000 yen per hour before the official 3 PM check-in time.

Germany1.) The staff is not able to speak or comprehend basic English, what a disgrace. They are not able to answer basic questions. 5-6 staff members at the desk and none of them able to speak English on elementary school level, quite shameful. 2.) Rude staff, one of them giggling about me, but herself very uneducated. 3.) Breakfast is a total joke. It's not even in the house, but they send you to a bad fast food chain called "Doutor" approx. 10 minutes walking distance. They give you coupons and offer you only a very limited choice, not even the full menu. I was there twice, then I had enough, because the breakfast is so bad. Don't book breakfast, it's a waste of money!
