Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only thing I can think of is the fact that you can’t look out the windows, otherwise everything was great!
The robot dinosaurs at the reception desk are so quirky and funny! The check in and out were really easy and straightforward. Hotel was overall clean and tidy. The room itself was comfortable, clean and exactly what was needed for our one night stay. The bathroom was great! Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.

United StatesHoping to have more area to sit down during breakfast especially if there are a lot of guests staying in the hotel it can be cramped
The hotel is within walking distance to dotonbori and major shopping areas in osaka. It is also near the subway station especially if your coming from osaka station to ride the bullet train. The dinosaur front desk was a hit for my 3 year old. Decent breakfast especially for on the go. Will definitely stay again next time

Robotic dinosaurs at the front desk were cool. 5-10 mins to the nearest Station. 15 min to the Ebisu Bridge, Suitable space for luggage storage before or after check-in.

IrelandPillows were really really bad, really lumpy and uncomfortable, honestly probably the worst pillow I’ve used before. Very strange as everything else was of a good high standard. WiFi was extremely slow, could barely load standard web pages which was unfortunate.
Good breakfast, snacks during the day were great too and free whiskey in the evening! Very clean room. Big shower and bathroom. Would stay again.

United KingdomThe light coming in the window (was basically a sheet for a curtain), there weren't enough tables for everyone at breakfast, found quite a bit of dust in the bathroom so cleanliness was lacking

GermanyThe carpet and the wall in my room hat many stains, which looked ugly. The little round table had ads stuck on its surface, which couldn't be removed - it was not nice to look at. The corner with the bathroom sink was very tight and there was nowhere to hang the towel.
The hotel is near the shopping area north of Namba, which was very convenient. The self-checkin was easy. The lounge area was small but with funny gimmicks and decorations. There was always something to snack and drink free of charge in the lounge, which was very nice. The staff was very friendly and spoke perfect English, which was a relief.

JapanThere are no water in the room. You can get free water frim the lobby, but the cup is so small it will not be enough for the whole night. I had to go to vending machine to buy my own water. Considering the price, it should be included. The breakfast is also not good. Just some onigiri and packed bread. I dont know why the review says “Good breakfast”. If you are in a group, don’t bother to eat at the lobby. It has less space.
The room was slightly bigger than ordinary business hotels. Expected for a twin room. It was clean. And I like that there are no receptionist, so I can checkin anytime without pressure.

AustraliaWould have loved if our room had a hand towel holder or hook near the sink/vanity area. Was nowhere to put the towel after you dried your hands. The staff left new towels at our room everyday which isn’t great for the environment (washing/drying etc) and we personally don’t need new towels everyday. Would be great if you could opt in or out for that. The fan vents in our shower/toilet needed a quick vacuum/wipe as they were very dusty. And lastly, our room was right behind the hotel elevators so it was quite loud at night (lots of loud mechanical noises, we thought it was the construction site across the road, but we later realised it was inside our hotel). So would maybe recommend ear plugs, but we did get used to it after the first night.
Loved the dinosaur checking in system, such a novelty and only something you get to do in Japan (would maybe ask that their volume was turned up slightly as it was hard to hear them talking). The location was great, so close to a station and a 15min walk to Dotonburi. Also so close to a main strip of restaurants and shops! Loved the free snacks during the day (biscuits, drinks etc). All in all, a good value for money hotel and so close to a well located train station.
