Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI paid extra on Booking.com for breakfast, but it is free to ALL guests. Breakfast was very basic, cereal, pastry, miso soup, yogurt and juices.
My family of four stayed at the Henn na Hotel Osaka Shinsaibashi during our trip to Osaka. First of all, the Henn na Nishishinsaibashi are a few blocks from each other - don't make the mistake that my husband made. I really expected this to be an "experience" hotel, but it wasn't. You basically check in with the kiosk which is located in front of small mechanical dinosaurs. We booked two single rooms, which were smallish in size, but okay for two people. The rooms had a safe, mini fridge, bathtub, AC and a TV; although I could not find any English channels to the TV. I paid extra on Booking.com for breakfast, but it is free to ALL guests. Breakfast was very basic, cereal, pastry, miso soup, yogurt and juices. The hotel does have luggage storage lockers in the main lobby, as well as visible staff on hand for questions/concerns. The location was great, very close to Dontonbori, with over the top shopping, dining options and nightlife.

Very unique experience. Service was excellent from any staff we encountered. 10 - 15 min walk from shopping, city shrines, and dotonbori. Price for the hotel was very reasonable.

DenmarkThe check-in at the reception by robots was quite disappointing. They were not able to check us in so we needed to call a staff. I had 2 kids (10 years old and 13 years old) with me, so I chose a King room that should be suitable for 3 adults (+ 2 small children). We had to share a blanket. The hotel informed that the two single beds would be provided as a joint in beforehands, but still it was not comfortable to sleep in the middle. It was a very small room for 3 persons. There was no place to walk as we had three suitecases. We didn't even have place to open one suitecase.
Location was very good. Lounge and breakfast was good. Staffs at breakfast counter were kind and nice.

The dinosaurs are cool looking but we ended up calling for the receptionist to help us check in. The hotel is close to the main shopping street and walking distance to train station.

United StatesConfusing at first. Dinosaurs at front desk were cool to look at but weren’t helpful. Check in doesn’t start until 3pm and is all self check in, but the screens don’t come on until 3pm. Thought each room would have more of a theme, not just the lobby.
Cool concept with dinosaurs, offered a variety of drinks or snacks throughout the day. Lockers available for late check in at 3:00pm. Great location that’s close walking distance to main shopping areas.

NetherlandsWe think the window didn’t close completely so there was a bit of a windy noise, nothing to keep you awake though.
We stayed here for three nights to experience it at least once in our lives. If you like to be welcomed by friendly dinosaurs, go here. They could even go next level with the dino theme inside the rooms. It’s just around the corner from shops, restaurants, etc. I like how calm it was in the street of the hotel before stepping out into the bustling centre of Osaka or going back to rest. The bathroom was very spacious, and cleverly divided into bath and toilet separately. The room itself was just about spacious enough with all our luggage. The staff we did see was friendly and offered to clean the room on an off day (unless requested).

PhilippinesBreakfast in the adjacent restaurant was ok. No variety though - 2 kinds of sandwiches; same kind everyday. But bonus points for having the option to pack the sandwiches to go. Although staff can be called if needed, property should have additional signs to let guests know where the staff is staying at.
Very good location. 1 street away from Shinsaibashisuji. Access to the metro at the end of the street.
