Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room service food was mediocre, as was both the Japanese and Western breakfasts (we tried both). The only highlight was the matcha soft serve ice cream sundae. The entrance would've been impossible to find since it looks like an industrial back gate without English writing, but the taxi driver took us to the right place. These are minor issues though, relative to the excellent facilities.
The room was excellent, very well designed, very spacious, with a nice tatami sitting area for eating. Every room is different, with a different theme. The outdoor bath was brilliant. Room service was very quick and prices very reasonable. They also provide additional free amenities that you can order using room service.

SingaporeLocating the hotel was a hassle. Recommended to drive or book cabs before your trip.
Breakfast was sent to our hotel room, there was a private spa with ever-flowing warm water. I love it! I totally recommend this spot if you do stay around the area.

Hong KongThe staff is not always stationing at the reception, which costs a bit of time, the room keycard has to be renewed every day, TV menu only with Japanese (English is only available for the first page). Since kids are coming too, it's better to put the 18yo limited content to a several page with warning caution
In-room hot spring and hot rock spa, spacious room, nice staff, sufficient supplies, prompt room service, free pre-cleaning for the washing machine, free breakfast, kid-friendly supplies

Netherlands-The building itself and the hallways are quite claustrofodic. Everything is black without windows. / We also did not get a traditional onsen, we had a bathtub, which was a huge let down. But might have been my mistake. -The bedroom had no windows. -Breakfast is very meager.
I would rate this place a 7. Booking makes it an 8 The onsen was lovely. The workers are lovely people. + We asked for a different room, and she immidiatly went to cleaning a nicer room for us. +And we had no extra charge. We had the perfect onsen now.

JapanThere were no windows in the downstairs room except for the door leading to the onsen. There was a shading film on the upstairs room windows so no natural light. As other reviewers have mentioned, it felt a bit like a love hotel but beds were comfortable and we did see other families staying there. No natural light in the hotel made it feel like a love hotel. Maybe change some of the solid doors to the parking spaces with doors that have windows and let some light in unless complete privacy/anonymity is the goal.
Both Japanese and Western-style breakfasts were good. Would have been nice if there was a little variety in the western-style breakfast from day to day. Location was a convenient drive to Nagashima SpaLand - you definitely need a car to stay here for restaurants, etc. Our room’s onsen was great to soak in at the end of each day. Staff were always helpful even though we couldn’t speak Japanese.

AustraliaOnly challenge about reaching the hotel is that is a little out of the way in terms of downtown Nagoya. When travelling with a large luggage a taxi was the most suitable but also a very expensive option. Not a negative on the hotel itself but rather a word of warning for other travellers.
Incredibly spacious room, fantastic service from staff who though had limited english were comfortable with using google translate. The in room onsen was amazing and was worth every $ paid to stay.

AustraliaWe arrived in late night, the front door was difficult to find as we drove passed a few times. Luckily we finally guessed right and could be able to open the front door which looked very like an industrial back gate. Then we walked passed a long aisle and reached the reception.
Very comfortable stay with private onsen in-room, in-room breakfast was great; kids got cutie bags which they loved so much. Very clean and spacious.
