This hotel is gorgeous and its interior is sleek and chic and looks designer-ish. Our room was unbelievably spacious. As promised, every room has a seaview, and so does its lounge, where you can get free drinks and ice popsicles round the clock. It also has small servings of ramen for supper, for free. The room is so gorgeous, it's worth booking one here just to stay in as a staycation. Forget about going out.

Location of the accomodation is not very convenient if travelling by public transport only. But highly recommend if you’re travelling via car.

Wide space in the room and a stunning view. We had great time by visiting the Mikimoto Pearl Island in the town. The onsen and the bar are awesome.

The location was a bit far from the station and not very walker-friendly. There was a bus but luckily the hotel had a free shuttle. Not a deal breaker at all.

Wonderful views, clean and new facility. The room had two separate beds but we could push them together. The staff were incredibly helpful and even offered a free shuttle service since it was difficult to get a bus. The dinner was way fancier than I was expecting. Seven courses, all local ingredients and traditional flavors. They also provided wonderful sake recommendations to go with the meal. I wish we could have stayed longer.

We really enjoyed our stay. Well maintained and clean rooms with great views. Very nice breakfast too. Hope to be back again. Special mention for personalised service by the lady receptionist on evening duty. My little son struck up a rapport with her. Unfortunately we did not get her name, but she mentioned that she has been in Toba for over a year. Thank you!

For eating you have to go to Toba. Not a very nice 15 minutes walk on a road without proper sidewalk.

On the outside it is a plain building, but inside fantastic views, both from the room and from the nice lobby with free coffee and tea all day.

I missed the tataki-yu!

I'm very familiar with this particular property, having stayed for years under previous ownership. What sets this property apart is the onsen facilities, which feature a 120cm deep tub and a 3m tall high volume waterfall "tataki-yu." I was glad to see that they preserved the baths as is in the renovations, and hope they reactivate the tataki-yu in the near future. (It was turned off due to COVID precautions during this stay. ) They did a beautiful job of renovating the rooms in a western style, with comfortable beds. The food was wonderful as well, with a significantly updated menu from previous ownership that included a focus on local, high-quality ingredients. The staff were amazing, ferrying our bags to our next hotel next door unasked for us as a surprise. They were clearly invested in us enjoying our stay, with several stand-out young, eager to please young staff out to prove themselves with excellent customer service. The nightly summer fireworks displays over the bay outside our rooms are a nice community effort to make stays in Toba extra special. I'm so pleased that this property has found new life under new caretakers.

The walking distance from the near-by station is a bit far than ideal and the street has no secured area for pedestrian. I would not feel safe to walk around at night. Its really dark.

The food served was not up to expectation. We found the soup very salty. But they try to accommodate if you have diet restrictions.

The hotel was clean and the lounge area had a good view of the sea. Our hotel room had a terrace and it was very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful.
