Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Czech RepublicWhile this accommodation seemed to get high ratings a few years back, it seems like it does not get the maintenance it would deserve to keep the standard - some equipment feels worn out, batteries in some equipment were drained, etc. Air conditioning was very loud and squeaky, plus blowing air directly onto the bed. We have started to use it later at night, so we did not ask for any fix, unfortunately it resulted in a very poor sleep. No other possibility to get air into the room - windows were locked. The light was very poor, combined with overall dark furniture it felt dark all the time. Since bath and shower share the tap for volume and temperature, it is harder to manipulate with it from the bath.
Rooms are clean and more or less spacious. Furniture is looking modern and contemporary, definitely feels more luxury at the first glance. Beds are very comfortable and on the firmer side, which is always important. Very nicely equipped bathroom. Modern, spacious, divided section for bath/shower and rest of the bathroom. The location is great, nearby the train station, nearby Isezaki Mall, but very calm.

CanadaHad booked a ryokan to have a Kaiseki dinner but was informed just before arrival that kitchen was closed for refurbishment so no dinner or breakfast. (refund was automatically applied) but it was after cancelation date, precluding booking a different Ryokan elsewhere. Note that all rooms have very low height futon like beds that fill in the room and are a bit difficult to maneuver in if you have bad knees/any mobility issue at all. Comfortable sleeping, just a challenge for older guests. Information tablet in room, despite having an "English" option, was of little use as much of the detailed content was still in Japanese.
Neat, clean affordable modern facilities. Very conveniently close to Kannai subway st exit 9. Easy automated check in & check out. Polite helpful staff. Internet was fine.

AustraliaThe only negative of our stay was that the room although it had two windows, these were frosted glass and there was no view at all, very dark and cave like. Our room was 1006, which was on the side of the building which was very close to the adjacent building, hence the frosted glass. Rooms at the front of the building probably 1004 and on, which should have normal windows and a street view would be better.
Our Japanese style room was quite comfortable and well equiped, also quite spacious. Excellent location close to Kannai station.

AustriaThe aircon was extremely loud and I think I heard the aircon from the next room, too. It was a loud, whistling kind of noise. I had to turn the zircon off to sleep, which made the room very warm (window can't seem to be opened). Last summer, the room I stayed in had a much quieter aircon, which I could sleep with.
The location is perfect, for JR, Shinkansen, and Haneda airport. It takes about an hour to get to Tokyo, but Yokohama is quieter, so I like staying there. Hotel is nice, clean, although it's seen some wear in tbe past years (e.g. on the walls). Staff are very friendly and the breakfast (I chose the Japanese) is excellent. They also accommodated the fact I don't eat meat, when I asked.

Germany-
The room was as expected and really clean. The bathroom was spacious and even featured a bathtub. We did receive new towles, water and amenities everyday, all we had to do was placed the used ones in front of our door in a provided bag.The japanese breakfast was so delicious and we were really surprised it was included in our price. We also booked a private sauna for 60min for 3500yen, which was a really nice experience as well. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was really good and a subway station was close by.There were several restaurants and bars nearby as well. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend it to others.

United KingdomProperty was hard to find and it wasn't obvious you needed to walk through a closed curtain to enter the property. Room overall was much smaller than I was expecting, there was no room to store my luggage, I had to climb over it. It's located next to a strip joint of some sort with posters at the side of the building that make the hotel seem part of it, and the hotel itself is very dark with no windows... a room with no windows, just a bed a bathroom sends the wrong message. No desk to work from was also an issue, but thats my fault for assuming and not noticing there wasn't a desk.
The bathroom was exceptional and I really liked this part of my stay, very large shower room and space to move in the bathroom which is important, so happy with that. The bed was very comfortable, I slept well.
