Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI wasn't allowed to use the onsen due to my tattoos but it was fine because I knew this when I booked. Just a heads up for anything with tattoos hoping to use it.
Free ramen in the evening was a nice touch. Good laundry facilities to freshen up our clothes. Tatami floors feel really nice. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

SingaporeThe onsen area was a bit more crowded than I expected. Additionally, I noticed some foreign visitors didn't follow the traditional onsen etiquette of washing themselves thoroughly before entering the baths, which was disappointing. I also wished visitors were quieter out of respect for Japanese culture; some Chinese tourists were notably loud and often chattered away loudly in communal areas.
I loved the relaxing atmosphere and rejuvenating hot springs at Onyado Nono Osakayodoyabashi! The location was conveniently situated between two train lines, although it meant a short walk to either station. The staff stood out for their friendly smiles and helpfulness throughout my stay.

SwitzerlandThe room was on the smaller side and the staff was making comments about us among themselves in Japanese thinking we wouldn’t understand. The reception had a very limited understanding of english, even at a basic level.
We really enjoyed the complementary services the hotel had: free noodles, ice creams, yakult, and a massage chair! The design and the concept was very thoughtfully made, and we loved that the hotel was fully barefoot.

United StatesSoaking tubs and that it felt traditional.
The soaking tubs were amazing. Great location with lots of restaurants and walking to many tourist spots. Cute little room, in a big hotel with a traditional Japanese feel. We adored it!

United StatesLocation may sound too far from Dotonbori but the walk is peaceful and an easy and quick train ride once you're there. Rooms fit max 2 people as described but can pack 2 large luggages and 2 hand carry with some maneuvering of the room.
This hotel has been my favorite part of coming to Japan thus far. The facilities and rooms are very clean and well thought out. The public onsen provides perfect respite from the walking you will be doing during your time here. They provide refreshments depending on the time of day and also have free washing machines (dryers are 100 yen per 20 minutes) which will save you a trip to the laundromat. The staff themselves are kind and extremely patient as they did not hesitate to use translation apps to provide excellent customer service. Location itself is 5 minutes walking to 2 train lines and a leisurely 30-40 minute walk or 20 minute train ride to Dotonbori. It is also right next to Lawsons for anything extra you need. Highly recommended, I hope to come back again soon.

United KingdomOnly comment, it would be nice to provide guests with slippers upon arrival. There is a no-shoes-allowed policy on all hotel areas, including the ground floor reception. The hotel provides lockers for guests to store their shoes, but slippers are not provided. It can be a bit uncomfortable if you are barefoot.
We had a comfortable stay at the hotel. The room was small but normal for Osaka standards, good value for money. The restaurant was comfortable with lots of seating space. Good breakfast selection with many options. The location was ideal for us as we wanted to explore a bit of the area along the river and away from busy Dotonbori. Well connected with 2 metro stations just walking distance from the hotel. Also important to note, there is a Lawson downstairs which is ideal for buying water and sweets!

AustraliaThere was only one pillow which was thin and hard. A slight odour from the drains in the bathroom.
We loved this hotel. Even though it is big it has a really friendly atmosphere. We loved the tatami rooms which were a little bit bigger than other Japanese hotel rooms. The onsen was great as were the free ramen in the evenings. Everyone lined up for noodles wearing their hotel pyjamas - a very relaxed atmosphere. The machines in the laundry were very efficient. The location is not too far from the metro and reasonably central.
