Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelWe liked everything about it!
The kind staff that helped us in any question in English or google translate. They tried their best to help us feel comfortable and understand the rules within the culture even though it was the first 2 days in Japan. Very tasty food and restaurant close by. The onsen was very clean and private. A massage sofa was free for the guests and also the laundry room. There is an open air shopping center around the hotel and at night small pubs and a theater. Sumida river walk path and Sensei Jin Budhist temple is near by.

IsraelWe liked everything about this hotel.
At the great area of Asakusa. The kind staff helped us with any questions we had. The onsen was very neat and comfortable. Breakfast was rich and tasty. Around the hotel there are market shops that turns into small pubs at night. Close to the Sumida river walk path and a beautiful Budhist temple. Best place to start in order to understand the Japanese culture.

IsraelThe onsen area was wonderful and very well appointed and clean. The rooms are small, but likely considered quite big for Tokyo. Our flight was cancelled so we had to extend our booking and the staff was incredibly helpful with that. Asakusa is an amazing area of the city :-)

The family room boasts a remarkably well-conceived layout, featuring a thoughtfully separated shower area with individual cubicles. For the comfort of light sleepers, blackout curtains are provided. The room size is well-proportioned, aligning with typical Japanese standards Posi

United StatesIt’s a bit smaller than their other locations. Hot spring baths can get busy but we were able to check the “busy time” on the tv before we went which was nice if you could wait if it was busy.
I really liked the location and ease of walking to everything we wanted from breakfast to shopping.

United StatesThis was my mistake but I thought the hotel would feel more high-end or boutique-y. It had a more corporate feel because it's a Dormy Inn. It was a busy, crowded hotel with lots of families, which was not what we had in mind for our honeymoon. I should have selected a smaller hotel. However, the location and amenities outweigh the bad. I think it would be perfect for a solo trip or a family trip. I saw lots of solo travelers and families which is great! Just not the vibe we were going for. Also, our room was very very small, and at first we were put on the second floor, which was right across from a noisy bar and had no view. We were able to move to a higher floor and that was much better!
The location is wonderful - so central to my favorite area in Tokyo and tons of restaurants and bars. The onsen is in the basement and is very clean, the water is very hot! You get robes and a basket to bring down to the onsen. I also appreciated that they have blackout curtains on the windows which allowed us to sleep better. They also let us do a late checkout (for a fee) and held our bags all day while we waited for our night flight from Haneda. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Everything! The location was perfect, like 2 minute walk from the temple and main attraction area. Room super cute and comfortable, pillows in Japan seem to be awful everywhere we went but everything else was excellent. The onsen was amazing, the popsicles available were an amazing treat after the onsen and the complementary noodles were a delicious snack late at night. Everything was super cute with excellent staff.

AustraliaThe pillow is hard and flat but despite that we loved it and would stay again.
Our room was comfortable and spacious for Japan with a view of the pagoda from the nearby temple. We loved all the extras- pyjamas, free noodles and ice creams, coffee in the foyer, the onsen and possibility to do your washing. We loved the tatami everywhere. The location is in a great area and not too far from the station and busy with restaurants and small tourist shops as well as some of the big chain stores. We went to Narita from the hotel and it was an easy trip via the Ginza line for a couple of stops and then the Skyliner train. As other people have mentioned, it was really hard to find the entrance despite having seen someone else’s photo. It is not marked at all. If you use Google maps it will take you near it so just ask in one of the restaurants or try entering doors with lanterns outside or you might circle the building like we did a couple of times before finding it.
