Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments

An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

A bit far from the subway but still walkable if you don’t have heavy luggage.
Facilities and lounge here is so good and clean and the shared shower room is very clean and clearly separated for male and female. Good for group and family travelers. Familymart is next to the hotel. A free hotdog set is provided as breakfast and free coffee. Staff is also nice and friendly for international travelers.

If you are travelling with a large family this might not be the place for you but in no way is it bad just might not be as comfortable in large groups
Place is a great option for both single travellers or a couple adventuring in Japan, less of a hotel and more of a dormitory but that makes it a great way to meet people.

I loved WeBase, would go back again if I'm ever in Kyoto. The rooms are small but comfortable and have everything you need. The washroom was amazing with lots of extra accessories and toiletries. The lounge is nice and has free tea and coffee, a snack for breakfast and free cup noodles each night. The facilites were great and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Location is great, within walking distance of some great coffee shops and restaurants, and very close to major metro and randen stations.

The bed was too hard for me and I woke up with back pain. The breakfast was 2 plastic packed sandwiches one with a sausage and one with egg. The window was very small you had basically no daylight in the room, but you go to japan for sightseeing and not to stay in the room so it’s okay.
The stay was really good. It was nice and quiet at night, the staff was very friendly and helped us a lot, it was clean and the offer of hotel facilities were great (powder room for ladies, blowdrier, toothbrush, shower gel etc. was there, sink in the room, and much more.) the hostel looked really beautiful making an overall good feeling. If you are looking for the highest quality hostel you can get for this price, you will be at the right place at WeBaseKyoto!

The room wasn't ready until 4pm, even though check-in was stated as 3pm as normal. This was a bit frustrating as we had just arrived in Kyoto and wanted to go exploring the city. Excellent experience here other than this.

When we got to the room was very hot, and the cold air com wasn’t working. The called the staff to open the windows for us.
Good location, close to public transport. The room was very clean, and the shower space as well. The free breakfast was a nice surprise!

We could not open the window and the air smelled a bit stale. Even with the AC we could not get a lot of fresh air in.
