Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaIt was quite noisy as it's located by the train station and roads.
The private onsen was wonderful. The twin room we booked was really clean and felt more like a ryokan than a hostel.

TaiwanThough the staff can't speak English well, they were trying to solve my problems and give me suggestions about the transportation to Mr. Fuji. They are really nice! Also, the bath service was so amazing! I had never thought I could enjoy taking a bath in the hostel until coming there!

ItalyLovely place, close to Shin-Fuji station, so I was able to manage all the daily trips in the area, including Mount Fuji. The place is lovely, authentic Japanese in wood. and super clean. The owners Who are managing the structure are a lovely couple that Made me feel home from the beginning. super recommend if you are in the area, best value for price possible!

United KingdomThe bed was a little hard/thin for me. On my back it was fine. If you're a side sleeper then you'll possibly find it uncomfortable. Besides that I had absolutely no problem.
Really great building, nice staff and very clean. 2 minutes from Shin-Fuji station which was really great. It's also really close to a Family mart and mcdonalds too.

JapanThe drinking water facility can be improved by providing a bottle to the guests. Since most people stay here for a night, I think providing a bottle of water may be possible within the price. It takes some effort to go to the common area from the bed just for drinking water.
It is just in front of the Shin Fuji railway station, less than a minute's walk, which makes it very convenient to reach after a tiring day and train journey. The beds were clean and comfortable, with sufficient amenities. The public bath was really nice, which you can have for free once during your stay. It's large so you can take a bath together with friends. The common lounge area is nice where you can seat and eat, meet others and listen to calm music.

AustraliaThe place was close to shinkansen and train stations so every 5 - 10 minutes you hear a loud train go by, the place needed some hooks to hang towels and clothes which could be easily installed on the thick wooden beams around the room. Had very weird dreams in this place but its a hostel, many different people sleep there. Maybe some sage would be nice.
The place was nice for the price, although a little pricey for us. We liked the staff as they were very kind and helpful, provided a bath daily for us and many other things we needed.

NetherlandsVery close to high way and you hear every car passing all night, all the time. So, need proper ear plugs. Bathing is only upon reservation which is a bit odd. I’d highly recommend to find a way to make showers more accessible at all times without reservation.
Japanese style Ryokan, clean and nice feel.

SingaporeBeing right beside the train station, the shinkansen/bullet train can be very loud all day. There was also siren of ambulance pretty often even at night. You can also hear the movements, voice and sounds of your neighbours next door. The sliding door of the room also doesn't closes fully. Also, it was my mistake for not asking but I had no idea where the shower room was because there wasn't any other shower room except for the large tub and pot tubs haha.. but overall it was an enjoyable stay.
Lovely accomodation! The location is very very near the Shin-Fuji station, about 2min walk. The staff was really nice and friendly. They explained the facilities and showed me around during check in. There is also a Family Mart Convenience Store right in front and can see a Macdonalds down the road. Also love the tub that they prepared after I made a booking. Really fancy! The room was also what I imagined, a Japanese room almost straight out of an anime! The toilets were shared but were very clean. The reception area also served like a living room where there is a kettle, coffee, tea etc. There was also a lounge/reading area with my mangas and books free to read. I really enjoyed the ambiance and environment.

New ZealandThe Shinkansen is close and rumbles through like a 747 but earplugs are there for sensitive sleepers. I must say I got used to it!
Everything about the hotel was well thought out. Even a hand basin in the room, a small fridge and TV. Comfortable futons as well! The lounge is great with tea /coffee making facilities. Jiro the host is always around to help with anything and will happily run your bath. The small bathroom has a ceramic bath, beautifully designed and a lovely way to end a long day. It was great having such close access to the rail and bus stations for the everyday excursions to Mt Fuji locations.
