I would ask the staff how often the pool is emptied and cleaned for next time.

The building is beautifully kept and the restaurant served really good food with traditional and western options.

Horrible internet connection The futon for sleeping was too hard - I read it in reviews, but I though we will be fine - we were not. :-)

Thought I was staying at a real ryokan of the whole facility like in old-time Kyoto like Geisha Picture included here was not the one at time of booking. But could be my misinterpretation. Visitors did not understand door locking mechanism so entry door was left unintentionally unlocked. This forced me to get up, leave my unit to go make sure the front door got locked. I left post-it notes trying to explain to other guests to make door lock when going in and out but they often did not understand. If requesting new towels, Instructions were to leave them in basket outside unit. This was missed once or twice. Could be a bit more signage outside to identify location. Had to walk by it several times before concluding we were there. Thank you GPS or Google maps.

You can hear some noise at night from other guests at times due to poor isolation.

Great facilities, small room but comfy with a TV, tatami floor and futons. There was also a kettle tea bags and pottery for brewing tea which we didn't get to use. The outside of our room was quite pleasant. All doors used individual access pin pads so there's no need to carry keys. There were also informative posters at the entrance mentioning cherry blossom locations and other popular places to see nearby. Close to a 7 eleven convenience store.

The room is a bit small, even for only my daughter and I. We never used the kitchen or the dining area which is so much space. Advice: A dressing mirror is a much needed to add to the room downstairs, (not sure about other rooms) being the bathroom is small already, it was not convenient for us two ladies shared one tiny mirror in the bathroom to do makeups. Futon needed to be a bit thicker. We are using futon at home too.

It’s clean and had settled up nicely! Owner is very nice , very punctual with fixing little things. By the way, Bakery next door is so good too!

We happily stayed in several ryukans whilst in Japan. This one, however, had the most worn futons and we found sleeping difficult and uncomfortable. It was hard to find the property as it is in a residential street and there is no external sign or number.

It was clean and had a good communal area, including a small kitchen in which we were able to cook a light meal, and socialise with our travelling companions. Check-in was done without meeting any of the staff, which was unusual in my experience but went smoothly enough.

The rooms are not ideal if you are carrying large baggage as international travelers. There is minimal storage space and no chairs in the rooms. The futons are rolled out on the floor and rather thin. We needed to place our duvet/comforter/bedspread on top of the futon to cushion our bed. If you have a bad back this is not the best experience. But our younger family members coped well. So just beware of your personal preferences and physical limitations. You will not be sleeping on traditional western style beds. But you do live the local experience.

Clean and conveniently located near a major train station. It is situated near good eating facilities including an extremely popular sushi train style family restaurant and convenience stores. The area is quiet as the hotel is off a major road in a side street. Laundry facilities are available, Our two younger children (in their early twenties) enjoyed the experience of living like locals. There is capacity to store luggage before and after check in/out times. A communal fridge/kitchen with tables and benches is available as well as shoe storage compartments. Staff were helpful providing directions to the hotel.

The futon is very thin so if you have back problems, get an additional one We never saw/spoke in person with the staff which makes it a little impersonal, but thats more a personal preference than actually something negative

Nothing, was a lovely stay!

Great location surrounded by some amazing local businesses! There is free coffee, tea and biscuits. There is a communal kitchen, washer and dryer for free. Each room has a security lock, and rooms are spacious.

It's not a true Ryokan. Very minimal interaction or support from the host. No hotpools either.

The room cleaning service isn’t included in the price of the room. (+2500 yen/day if you request) When we received new (“clean”) towels were smelly and stained.

The big picture about the property was fine. It’s modern fully equipped, our room was traditional with futons. The laundry room is a plus. Located in quite area near to Nijo station and to a lot of convenience stores. + luggage lockers in the lobby (see attached picture)

There was little bit dust around.

Place was amazing, the room was like in the picture. Very quiet and close to the station.there is a laundry room and a kitchen that is possible to use any time, tea/coffee always there.

Super thin walls, you can hear someone snoring from your room. Even our footsteps made the guests downstairs angry. 10-minute walk to the nearest station.

Overall good f/p. It was an interesting experience to stay in a traditionally designed room. Sleeping on the floor felt a little rough on the first night after that, however, we got used to it and felt really comfy

You could hear people in other rooms, we were on the bottom floor and you could hear the people above almost all the time - snoring, talking, walking around the room etc.
