Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt's got a family run feeling. Don't expect a polished experience! It's almost a bit summer camp-y.
The staff were very friendly and useful. Good English skills. Nice breakfast and the onsen can be booked for a single family. Rooms are large and comfortable.

AustraliaThere were no vegan options for breakfast. Even fruit or packaged food so the ingredients can be checked for allergens would have been good. The villa kitchen was only stocked with a wine bottle opener and two plastic wine glasses. It made me laugh. The heater needed instructions in English on how to use. It took me a while to work out you need to turn the water/gas switch on to have hit water. It’s a panel located on a wall, in my room near the bed. It took me 10 minutes of running cold water into the Onsen figure this out.
I liked the cabin in the woods vibe. The location is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The Onsen was nice, the water could only go to 42 degrees, but I could have gone hotter, it meant the Onsen cooled down quickly and needed topping up regularly to stay warm. The bed was comfortable and they have memory foam pillows which were so comfortable. Very relaxing atmosphere.

JapanUnfortunately, there is no microwave in the bungalow. We should use the microwave in the public dining room outside. The breakfast is so-so. We got bread, eggs, cereals, milk, juice, and coffee, nothing special.
Private onsen in the bungalow is nice both in the morning and afternoon. The bungalow is comfortable for a family (two adults and two children). The information is adequate for English-speaking people (how to use AC, onsen, light, public facilities) written on the wall and booklet. There was a ping pong room too. It is comfortable if traveling by car, if not need to order a taxi. For example, go to Kawaguchiko station by taxi (about 1200 yen) and then took a bus. Going to the Music Forest museum by taxi cost about 3200 yen. The Fuji-Q highland is walkable for about 10 minutes.

Japanno major complaints. everything was comfortable and satisfying.
Breakfast was quite simple but tasty. It was self serve, -we ate in our room. The staff was great, flexible and helpful. They let us do fireworks on the property. And the kids loved our private onsen bath in the room.

JapanThe place can be a little confusing to get to, but there is a small road behind the DonQ that will lead you to the hotel. Not sure if its because of the booking.com website, but we travelled with a child and had to get a second room. I guess the upside was we had 2 private baths to use.
Staff was friendly, and spoke english. The property is minutes away from the fujisawa bus station. Private and public onsen available, was awesome to relax after climbing Mt. Fuji. Rooms were comfortable and clean. This is a perfect spot tucked away that is near FujiQ as well.

Japanonsen can only accommodate two people per session due to covid protocol. We need to book our schedule to use the onsen (but eventhough already booked the schedule, some other guests entered the onsen room during our timeslot)
Breakfast ok, the hotel provided us with breads and cereals. The highlight was the onsen facility and common room with the table tennis to play with.

JapanThe first day it was raining very hard and we couldn't enjoy the outdoor bath because it wasn't covered by a roof. If it it was covered that would have made our stay perfect. Also, I was very disappointed with the breakfast. I was expecting more choices and coffee. They only offered small pieces of bread, yogurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs, juice, and milk.
We really liked the room and private bath on the balcony and the location was perfect.

Czech RepublicThe ratio of price and quality was not good at all. The accommodation was very pricey for what it was - just a simple wooden cottage, similar to a summer camp, not a hotel. We definitely do not recommend coming here if you are afraid of spiders or any insect. We had two huge spiders in the room on the day we arrived. The place was also not very clean, we found dust and spider webs basically everywhere when we were trying to chase the spiders out of the cottage. The breakfast choice was not great either, there was only eggs, rice, sausages and musli with yoghurt. No fruit or vegetables at all.
Nice location in the nature, very close to Mt. Fuji

JapanAs mentioned in previous comment, everything in the hotel feels very old. Even though the bathroom was slightly newer, it still had mold issues. There was no sound insulation — it felt like we were sharing a room with the neighbors. We specifically paid extra for a private stone-style bath (sento) as advertised, but the one we got was completely different. The bath had a visible crack, which didn’t affect its use but left a bad impression. The outdoor shower was in terrible condition, held together with tape. Overall atmosphere wasn’t great either — parts of the building near the bath entrance seemed to be rotting from years of moisture. The air conditioner was weak and barely cooled the room.
Aside from the polite staff, the “positives” pretty much end there.

JapanUnfortunately, the hotel has some significant downsides. The building is quite old, and the photos — especially those on their official website — are misleading. Right from the entrance, the room felt neglected: the door had a flimsy, outdated lock that looked like it might fall off. The air inside was stuffy and heavy. Although the bedding and yukata were clean and pressed, the room itself was dusty. The bathroom was dated, with visible mold in some areas. We had a room with a private bath in a sento style — the door to it led outside and was splashed with water, overall looking quite unclean. The space was small and enclosed with a faux bamboo plastic fence. The bath was made of natural stone and fairly deep, but it looked far worse than in the pictures. The walls were stained, and some wallpaper was peeling off. Soundproofing was poor, which is not surprising for a traditional wooden house. The air conditioner was thick with dust, as if it hadn’t been cleaned in years. The fridge was loud, and the kettle didn’t work (it was actually a typical Japanese water heater like you’d find in a convenience store). We didn’t use the public bath, but were told it must be reserved in advance. At night, the outdoor lighting was minimal, making it hard to find your way around at first. Overall, it felt more like staying at a run-down countryside cottage than a hotel.
One of the main strengths of this hotel is the staff — incredibly kind and helpful. We initially rented regular bicycles but realized the ride would take too long, so we asked to switch to electric bikes (highly recommended!). The staff was very accommodating, issued a refund, and let us rebook at the new rate without any issues. The location is also convenient: there’s a Don Quijote nearby where you can buy snacks and other items, and plenty of places to eat (the shabu-shabu on the corner is a great choice). The Wi-Fi is fast, although my phone flagged it as “low security,” so I’d recommend using a VPN. Dinner is served from 7:00 to 9:30 PM — you can have a hearty meal and not worry about getting hungry soon after.

AustraliaClimbing stairs to the upper level, where my room was located, with heavy luggage was difficult for me at my age. Staff assisted me, when I asked for help, by bringing my bag down upon leaving. Thank you!!! The stairs are the only thing that would make me reconsider staying again.
Supplying cereals was great to see. Slices of bread to toast would have been a great addition to include in the buffet breakfast. Aussie here who likes cereals, bacon, eggs and toast. With that said the breakfast was better than other accommodation across Japan. I skipped breakfasts many times at other locations due to the menu not being suitable.

Fujiyama Inn Conifer and is very service minded. The staff are very nice and good to explain. I stayed in one of the bungalows and I was very surprised to see how big it was. The bungalows has their own private onsen, but the main building also offer a bigger onsen experience, where you book time to use it privately. So if you wanna experience onsen with your friend or family, this is a very good opportunity to do so!

Well i dont know if I got lucky but not only was it much cheaper than the other options, it was also a nice bungalow just for me. With a private hot bath on my private balcony. Big bed, bathtub in bathroom and even a full kitchen. I was so surprised when I opened the door lol. They also have a big onsen bath you can reserve for yourself.
