Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe hotel is located a long way out from beach based hospitality best found at Uppuveli, even there it’s quite low key. That’s a bonus for many but a bit too quiet for us. There are no other eating options for several Kms so you need transportation if you want options. That said their dinners were very good and not unreasonably priced for the quality, service and some Western style options. In the end we enjoyed going to the Hawaiian Snack Bar on the beach at Uppuveli during the day, nice loungers, drinks, great food, service and vibe. Then returned to our nice oasis at C beyond for the evening and dinner. It works if you don’t mind 20 mins travel each way… or you enjoy seclusion on a nice but very quiet beach.
Great staff who want to make your stay pleasurable, very good food, a bit tired in places but superior to most other options we observed. Has a nice vibe to it. Lovely outlook over the sea from our room and private balcony.

United KingdomIt was a 15 min Tuk Tuk to other restaurants but that was perfect for us.
It was in a really quiet area and was beautiful!! The beach was empty and the hotel was small so the pool was quiet. Great setting!

United KingdomOur short stay!
Our room at the hotel, at first floor level, was ideal and overlooked the sea and an area of beach with fishing boats. Our room was clean and tidy and had access to a private balcony. The food was excellent with a varied menu which was better than average. The staff were polite, personal and helpful

We stayed at C Beyond for 8 nights and it was absolute bliss. The hotel is very relaxed with beautiful Art adorning the walls. The beach is safe for swimming and the sunrises are spectacular. It is very secluded. The staff all work extremely hard and nothing is too much trouble.

Large room with a lovely small private pool and right by the beach. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and organised the trips we wanted to go on at very reasonable prices. Large breakfast spread.

CanadaDinner prices a bit high but hey…
Wonderful property, beautiful beaches, enjoyable pool. Room is really lovely with beautiful sunrises. Dinner was delicious. It’s an independent hotel and nice to enjoin something a bit more original than a chain hotel. We had a great stay. Staff were superb too.

IndiaThe beach is not as good as the main Nilavali beach. Also it can be quite dirty at times. If you are keen on long walks on the beach this may not be the best resort to be.
Rooms are nice and toiletries are of very good quality. Food is generally good and varied. Choice of local dishes are also available during breakfast which is nice.

SwitzerlandA very special place with incredible staff that go way and beyond to help. Designed by the renowned architect and artist Laki Senanayake, the main hotel is located on the tip of a wild beach and entrance to a lagoon. Some of the rooms could do with a bit of renovation and some of the air con units don’t work properly etc. But we ended up not needing air con as the building has good cross ventilation and mosquito nets. Breakfast is generous and delicious. Dinner isn’t cheap for SL but the chef is talented and it’s worth it as you can request whatever you fancy including lagoon crab , shrimps, while fish cooked in banana leaves etc. I am sad to leave and already planning my return!

United KingdomWe loved absolutely everything about this place. The welcome from staff, the stunning views, and beautiful room. The food was fabulous so we ate at the hotel every night. Breakfast was huge and the local dishes were excellent. Staff were so helpful and organised anything you needed making it the most relaxing stay. Swimming off the beach is very safe and if you like nature you will love it here as there are so many different birds to see.

We absolutely loved everything about this hotel. The rooms were so nice, the beach was peaceful and the staff helped us arrange all the activities we wanted to do (and the boat goes directly from the hotel so it couldn’t be easier). The staff were superb and the food (although pricier than we were used to in Sri Lanka) was amazing and we ended up eating at the hotel every night because it was so good. The breakfast was also incredible with so much food!!

Hong KongI booked one night at C Beyond but liked it so much I extended my stay for a second night. The villa and plunge pool was unexpectedly luxurious. The Laki Senanayake designed house was exquisite and replete with his sculptures and paintings. The food was consistently delicious. Eric, the manager was an accomplished host. I highly recommend C Beyond and its beautiful beach location.

United KingdomPlastic waste on beach, although C Beyond staff work hard to keep their immediate location clean. Lots of wild dogs around who are friendly, but noisy at night. A fan on the balcony would be nice.
Stunning views from this attractive property. Spacious bedroom and bathroom. Mosquito nets around bed. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, breakfast was enormous. Very peaceful location, but remote.
