Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWe stayed 5 nights at Riad Jaouhara and it was grand. The rooms (actually suites) are extremely spacious and original Moroccan style. The building is constructed for the climate and thus the rooms are cool without having to use airconditioning (sustainability!). Morning breakfast or afternoon tea in a quiet courtyard is heavenly. The place is ideally situated just inside the medina, taxi's are only 50 yards away, and it only has a few suites so it is VERY exclusive. The staff is extremely personable and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. We have traveled every continent and Riad Jaouhara and its staff far exceeded our expectations.

United StatesI arrived from a Sahara tour, and as it turned out two of the other people on my tour had also booked a room here at Jaouhara, so we all arrived together. Since there were two of them, and only one of me, there was a little mix-up with the rooms that we were assigned: the other folks got the suite that I had booked, and I got their smaller room. It was a small and overall pretty insignificant error that didn't impact me negatively in any way (I had only taken the suite because it was the last room available here when I booked), but they didn't change what I was charged for the room. So I paid for a suite and stayed in a standard room. Maybe the prices really were the same, but it would have been nice to have the cost adjusted accordingly.
Location, location, location! Seriously, this riad could not be any better placed. It's very, very easy to find, unlike some of the places deep inside the twisty and confusing medina. You are just STEPS inside the old city, with easy and convenient pick-up/drop-off locations nearby at both the Blue Gate and the Batha post office, but with all of the main tourist attractions in the city at your doorstep. But once you're through the front doors, you have a gorgeous, plush riad offering you a respite from the hustle and bustle just outside. Helpful and friendly staff, and my room had a very cool colorful lit border running around the ceiling that added some beautiful and unique character to the stay.

United KingdomThere was almost nothing to dislike about the place, very value for money.
The place itself is very grand and has been decorated equally well. The courtyard is very ornate and gives the feel of a secret garden. The rooms are very spacious and well presented. We absolutely loved the hospitality of the host, he was very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home.

SpainBathroom amenities need significant improvement, generic soap, no quality shampoo, no conditioner no shower gel offered. For the price we paid, they could do much, much better including body lotion, cotton swaps, and some nice fragrances could be included.

Mr. Ali and all his staff are very friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was very good (traditional Moroccan) served in traditional earthenware, to the table. Riad is very spacious, tranquil with beautiful gardens. Location is excellent, very close to the Medina and all the historic landmarks. We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely book this again. We recommend Riad Jaouhara if you're planning a visit to Fez, you'll really enjoy it like we did! Thank you

United StatesNothing comes to mind.
This riad was spectacular - interesting and authentic decor and exceptional staff. There seem to be a few riads in Fes that deserve the accolades they receive, and this riad belongs in that group. It was clean, comfortable and enjoyable to be here. As to the staff, everyone was exemplary. I had the most interaction with Ali and Souka, who were just so helpful and friendly - so a specific shout-out to them, but that doesn't mean everyone wasn't exceptional (they were). I would highly recommend this riad - in addition to the staff, it has a great location and, in my view, is a great value for the experience.

United StatesWalking up 4 flights of stairs to get to our room, especially in the dark. Not sure if there was an elevator
The courtyard was gorgeous and completely made our stay. Our room had little lights in the ceiling that made us feel as though we were sleeping under colorful little stars! And the staff was incredibly kind and helpful - they even gave us a free beer on our last night!

ItalyMaybe a better heating system would made the Riad more comfortable during cold days, but that can be very subjective.
This Riad has the most amazingly kind and helpful staff: They were there for us at every time of the day and they made us feel safe and spoiled. The location was also perfect: close to the blue gate, close to the two main streets of the Medina, but still (nearly) reachable by taxi. We definitely recommend this Riad!

United StatesWe got the room on the highest floor because I wanted a nice view. When we thought of the stairs, we were lazy to go down and hang out in the garden. So it's my own choice, cannot blame the riad.
Beautiful garden in the Riad. The room was very spacious, high ceiling, airy and bright, but it could also be close to making it really dark for well sleep.

PortugalUnfortunately the terrace is not available for taking meals or a for a drink looking at the sunset over Fes. This is a pity as it has a superb view.
This is for sure one of the best riads available in Fes. The location close to the Blue Gate and the old medina is perfect. The breakfast is served in the quiet and beautiful inner garden and includes some marroco items. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help. Ali could not do more to make us feel more comfortable. The room and bathroom were lovely and very clean. This is certainly a place to stay when visiting Fes.
