How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I didn't like that there wasn't an elevator. Luckily, a nice worker carried my suitcase up the flight of stairs to my room.
I loved that there was a gym, however small it was. I got two workouts in during the week I stayed at Youssef's. I also enjoyed the pool and the room service. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Walmart nearby is also a plus.

Walls are thin therefore there is some noise. window looks on the open air corridor, so you have to choose between sunlight and privacy. Air con directly blows air on bed

There's no security that check up the parking lot and there weren't enough illumination so it made me doubt about my car
The bed was so confortable, it make me forget the porpouse of my trip

The bathroom of the room we were in, was a bit tight. but clean. Also, be mindful of stairs. there is no elevator, it's good for the heart. but if you have any knee issue, request a room on the first floor. the pool wasnt clean.
Great location, very friendly staff. We had booked breakfast included and it was from 7am to noon. enough time to still catch breakfast even if you didnt wake up on time.

They didn’t clean our room everyday.
The staff was very accommodating and they changed our rooms after we had a small problem. Everyone working there was great! Breakfast was good! Location was awesome! The suite is worth it.

Patrons are not told to keep noise levels down, continual loud communication in between groups and different guests. Hard to sleep in such noise disturbances.

Wifi was not always available, and breakfast was a bit of a letdown. They could have a small library available for guests and also a ready-made list of restaurants where to have dinner and info about how to go in out of city center.
Close to the leading hotels of Merida and the convention centre but at a very reasonable price. A clean space to stay with all the basics covered and comfortable

Would be nice if restaurant were open for lunch and dinner. Need coffee maker and fridge in the room really. Couldn't get tv to work. Need bedside lights.
Very smart, comfortable beds, great location for CMA hospital and Walmart. And Paseo de Montejo. Good internet.

We requested an iron and a hair dryer several times but the staff wasn’t super responsive about it. We had to go to the lobby one of the mornings and ask for the iron directly, the hair dryer wasn’t provided.
The location is great and the hotel has everything for short stays. They replaced toiletries every night and that was nice

The AC in our room didn’t work well, I woke up a couple of times because the room was too hot, there’s no elevator.
It’s located a few meters away from Paseo Montejo, there are many restaurants nearby. Staff was very nice and helpful. We arrived at 10 am and they allowed us to do an early check in.

The pool was dirty and the gym smelled really bad. The stairs to the rooms have extremely low ceilings. Need to see it to understand. The nose from the main street is pretty loud, but this is normal in Mexico.
Rooms were spacious with a comfortable bed and big bathroom. The staff was nice and smiley.

The air conditioning hit directly into one of the beds, there was no elevator, bathrooms were TINY and one had a bad drain smell.
Location was good, all of the staff were really helpful and nice at all times.
