Unfortunately there was an issue with the hot water during our stay and during the 4 nights we stayed, we only had hot water 2 days. The rest of the days hot water was warm cold but still able to take a shower. Manager ended up by solving it at the 2nd day. Another negative thing is the fact that a commission is charged in case you want to pay by card. In our option it does not make any sense to charge such a fee … but we decided to pay by card anyway.. ir was cheaper. Despite these issues we would stay here again

We stayed at Himalayan Ghar for 4 nights and overall we really liked our stay. Location is very good in a calm area but at the same time at the city center, so in what regards the location we could not ask for more ! It has a private parking space right onsite which for us was amazing as we are riding/ traveling in our own motorcycle. The best thing are definitely the rooms ! Very clean, cozy, comfortable, bed is amazing, good environment, spacious… the comfort of a 4/5 star for sure. Bathroom extremely clean & modern & spacious Breakfast is very good and restaurant staff very kind Rooftop is amazing ! Incredible view over the city, specially at sunset. Staff at the reception is very kind specially the lady that is there almost all the time: Minakshi she is the cutest person on earth ! Overall we really enjoyed our stay

It was very difficult to find the location off the street. They need a better sign on the street that makes it easier to find.

The location was right outside the tourist area of Kathmandu, so it was nearby but quieter than the central area. The room was large, clean, and had good facilities. The staff were helpful and spoke English well.

my stay in Himalayan ghar was excellent. Nice clean room , buffet breakfast in rooftop , delicious food from hotel restaurant. Hot water, Wi-Fi are available 24/7. Airport pickup and drop was provided to me. Staff are very polite and helpful. Manager mr. Devendra Karki was very nice person and available for assistance. He had organized my travel and tour activity in Nepal.

This was the second time we stayed at Himalayan Ghar, because we like it so much. And we will always vote for this hotel again, whenever we are in Kathmandu. The staff act as friends. The rooms with huge balcony are spacious, quiet, comfortable and clean. Tasty breakfast with a wide variety of choices is served on the rooftop with sweeping views over Kathmandu. The location is perfect, in central Thamel. Highly recommended.

Very comfortable room with kingsize bed and huge balcony in a central but quiet location of Thamel. Nice rooftop restaurant where complimentary breakfast is served with a wide choice ranging from hearty food to pancakes with honey. Excellent value for money. The staff is very attentive and friendly. We felt @home.

Air conditioner may be out of order but it can be fixed by staff quickly. The entrance of the hotel is not easy to find as it is not next to the road.

I liked EVERYTHING about my stay at Himalayan Ghar!!! First, my room was so luxurious, large, comfortable, very, very clean and had so many wonderful amenities! Regarding the food, I could see it is made with GREAT CARE AND IS SO DELICIOUS, and the breakfast buffet is out-of-this world YUMMY, has a variety of different breakfast foods and is just like HOMEMADE! Above all, though, I ESPECIALLY LIKED THE STAFF at Himalayan Ghar. When I was there, it included: ~sensational Suzan 🤩 ~marvelous Minakshi 🤩 (whose scarf I will cherish forever!) 🌹🌹🌹 ~notable Navin 🤩 ~delightful Devendra 🤩 (who is the manager and who I see with my own eyes does an EXCEPTIONAL job in making guests, comfortable) ~awesome Amrit 🤩 ~bright and beautiful Bishnu 🤩 ~and the 2 heavenly, happy and hardworking housecleaning ladies who cleaned my room 🤩🤩 (I know there are other staff who I did not get to know, and I say thank you to them, too, for making my stay so wonderful! 🙏🙏🙏) The staff I mentioned above are SO PROFESSIONAL YET WARM AND FRIENDLY TO ME!!! We didn't like the many pigeons outside close to the balcony and bathroom window. Our room did not correspond to the photos as shown on booking.com

Perfect location, i.e. very calm yet also very close to busy Thamel. The hotel's highlight is the roof top terrace where we had a tasty breakfast with fantastic views over Kathmandu. Even in December it was not too cold to sit outside. We had a nice room with a big, modern bathroom. Unfortunately we could not use the balcony, due to the many pigeons. Very nice and helpful staff.

Great room, very polite staff who were always helpful. I ordered a taxi to Nagarkot, they took me and showed me many beautiful places along the way. I recommend to visit. There are many beautiful objects nearby.

Our room was clean and had everything we needed. The hotel staff was very friendly. Breakfast was served on the roof terrace, which we found very nice. The bathroom was large and modern, but a bit smelly. The room was a bit cold at night (but we were there at the end of November). We liked it at the Himalayan Ghar and can absolutely recommend the accommodation.
