Really nice rooftop to relax after trekking or taking a break from the cityvibes. Great place to meet people as well. With a great view and sunrise/set. All the staff members are really lovely and helpful. Totally recommendable especially excellent for that price. Would definitely stay there again!

The washrooms size was very small

Everything was really good

We had a really good stay at Rest up Kathmandu, it was nice and clean, staff were so friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed it and definitely would stay again. Very nice roof top , amazing location.

It’s not my first time here and it won’t be my last. “Rest Up” is exactly what this place will enable you to do. Comfy beds, clean and ample washrooms. Very spacious, 2 story chill out area situated at the rooftop of the property; accompanied by scenic, hilltop top views and directly in line with Swoyambhu temple. Minutes from Thamel centre. Relaxed atmosphere, tasty food and beers available but above all it’s the guys that run the place daily that makes this hostel so special. Extremely pleased to be received by the same smiley faces as I was a long time before which for me, speaks for itself. Taxi service, both to and from airport available at reception plus many options for trekking via their partner adventure company.

Dogs could be heard barking all night and there was no hot water for shower on my last day.

The staff were excellent, friendly, and helpful. The mural art, lighting, and rooftop space were amazing. Bed was comfortable and clean.

Very good value for money. Even if the builduing and room with furnitures are bit old and carpeted, the room is at same time big and confortable, with also big confortable bed. The staff has been very helpful and friendly, folllowing up constantly with me about my stay. They are very good with helping in organising trips and tekkings. They have helped me in organising for good price a very well organised private one day trip, including the visit to Patan and the most important place of interest in Kathmandu, such as Budha Stupa and Monkey Temple. The hostel has a restaurant roof top, where you can enjoy a great city view. I had a tasty dinner for good price. Location is central, close to the tourist area with shops and restaurants/bars in Thamel.

Well, the bathroom is pretty basic but then in relation to the price for a single room it‘s fair. With the right expectations to get what you pay for, the incredibly friendly staff, people and view from the terrace it made up for it, at least for me.

Super friendly staff. Rooftop terrace is true gem. Location is good, breakfast is good. There are always travellers around so if you‘re after social encounters, it won’t take long until you have a great conversation going.
