Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandEntrance to the hotel is just from the road which makes it difficult to park your car during check-in and check out especially if all on road parking is full. Also though I liked the lighting in the hallways and rooms, I did feel at times it was a bit dark and would have liked a bit more lighting, especially in the rooms.
Very modern, good location, great food, comfortable rooms with nice beds…well thought out.

New ZealandWas a bit of road noise (sirens, car alarms etc.) but to be expected in the city. Would have loved better more basic breakfast options in the restaurant and an earlier open. The room service options were better than the restaurant options and available earlier - but it's nice to get out of the room to eat. A lovely staff member did offer us a coffee before restaurant opened, but we didn't have time to eat as we had an event to get to.
The rooms were lovely and modern, and reasonably spacious. Staff were helpful - check in was an easy process. Great location to the viaduct.

United StatesI am not a fan of the room decoration- very dark and doesn’t render a cozy feeling. The lighting of the room is not bright enough so it’s hard to see things clearly. Some of the designs are not friendly, for example the iron closet, every time you open or close the door it makes a loud noise, quite annoying.
Good location and good value.

United KingdomThe industrial design touches such as the metal wardrobes, the hard plastic seating and the ceiling lights which shone in our eyes when we were in the bed and couldn't be adjusted or switched off otherwise than via the master switch disabling all of the lighting in the room.
The room was spacious and clean

AustraliaRoom lights are too dim to be functional. Can't see properly even with all lights are on. I think it could be dangerous for elderly Bedding is way too soft. Not supports at all. I had to order a rollaway bed .
Reception staff are excellent! They are friendly ,welcoming, and professional! 10/10 Location is the best , you could walk around city& harbour without car.

AustraliaThere was a lot of hair in the shower on the wall - we called the desk to come and clean it and the cleaner was lovely and apologetic but unfortunately did not clean it all. The dark tiles probably make it tricky for them to see but it was still really off putting. The cover of the light switch also randomly fell onto the floor and when I picked it up I noticed it was stuck on with sticky tape. These things wouldn't bother me as much if I wasn't paying so much for the room. Didnt feel very luxe!
Breakfast and restaurant were amazing! The bed was extremely comfortable and the staff were great.

New ZealandForm over function meant the room may have looked good but was hopelessly impractical in many ways. The lighting and dark colours meant it was very difficult to find controls etc. The mirror had no light for putting on make- up or basic hair tidying. There was a hair dryer but no plug in the bathroom or even near the hall mirror. No rail to hang towels except a small one literally next to the toilet , which had no lid. The main lights when turned off meant that the bathroom light didn’t switch on in the middle of the night
Staff were great, location fantastic

AustraliaThe rooms were extremely dark there was very little lighting , the staff were not helpful at all and there was no out of the way help given . For example we had a tour booked and we were getting picked up at 6.45 am breakfast was included in our room rate so I asked if I could get a coffee to take away and maybe fruit or a pastry that we could grab and go and the answer straight away was NO , it’s not takeaway . Even when I went down for breakfast I ordered a coffee for my husband to take back to the room for him and they tried to charge for it .
The property was really central and nice and clean
