The accommodation/rooms are quite old and should be refurbished. It has come into quite some age and it needs a bit more than fresh paint

The view is very nice. The infinity pool is a great build. The green garden between the houses looks neat. Same of the staff was super friendly- especially the guys from the restaurant

We checked in at the hotel at an early time where we went to the pool, where the owner of the hotel came and started to question us as if we were intruders, where we gave him the information, which is disrespectful, where he could have checked his reception team first to check before coming to the guest

FIrst and foremost, we liked the exceptional view. The infinity pool was a plus, as was the breakfast and dinner (half board is the uncomplicated way to go) on the terrace, with a friendly staff, orchestrated by the excellent Francis F.

Where do I start….i think the property has cruised on its view and the rest is pretty shoddy. Tired, expensive, extras you had to pay for like water. The evening meal was incredibly basic, rooms were tired and needed maintenance, no where to go after your evening meal, furniture cheap and basic. Hit and miss on the staff. I feel whoever owns this hotel is being greedy. Over Charging guests for basically a view. charging for water, which makes me think are the staff being looked after properly!! The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. They are making more basic cabins but need to maintain the ones they have. I have looked through the reviews and people are saying the same thing. They need to listen to their guests and make changes. Don’t ask for reviews and not act on the feedback.

    The view was lovely.

Pretty much everything. The road to The View was 4-5km of driving on dirt roads with no indication of how much further to the hotel nor if you were on the right path. There was little to no service when we arrived, the room assigned was in second row which was what we paid (too much) for. The room was extremely dated, the door had an actual key to the room and it was difficult to ensure that your things we're secured when you weren't in the room. The A/C didn't work, The room looked like it had had a 70's style makeover with thick layers of paint on the doors and walls. The view was so-so with another hut in front of the balcony. The noise from the A/C units running really spoiled whatever joy was left of being on the balcony. And just as we thought this was the worst, we went to the "restaurant" for dinner. This place where they served food was anything but romantic. Yes, there was a view and that was the only appetizing at element at the restaurant. They only had buffet and the selection was just terrible. We asked if we could order a'la carte but they said they only served that once in a while. The tables were uninspiringly "thrown" on the balcony of the restaurant and it was in general very uninviting. We decided to not eat and instead went hungry to bed. We had originally booked for two nights but after just 1 hr there it was clear we would not stay more than 1 night and after speaking with the supervisor they told us we had to wait till the next morning to discuss this further. After a night with little sleep we went to the breakfast with very low expectations but it was even worse than dinner. The selection was literally none and I'm not trying to say that we expected to be served a 5-star breakfast but this was simply poor and when we asked for a cappuccino it was not included in the breakfast but had to be paid separately.

I liked the concept of the hut's on top of the mountain, similar to what Hatta in Dubai has. The pool looked nice. I also liked that they allowed us to cancel the booking so that we only had to stay 1 night which was way more than enough. Don't get fooled by the pictures like we did...

Everything else. From the AC that is above the bed and blows ice cold wind on you all night. The mediocre room. The bath tub I couldn't plug. The below average breakfast with watered down juices. The construction going on around the pool that made it impossible to enjoy yourself. And finally the over pricing.

The view is mediocre compared to what you can find in the region, the road to the hotel is terrible, you need a 4X4 and to get there before dark because there is no lighting on the road. After 8pm no English speaking personnel at reception, the food is bad and they tried to trick us to order buffet for 12 OMR/person when there is no buffet in fact and you can order a la cart and eat for 3-4 OMR/person. We had water pipe cockroaches in our room and they told us it came from outside. Didn’t want to change our room until we started threatening to announce booking about the bad conditions, in the end we had to leave in the middle of the night. To top it all they lied to booking to avoid giving us a refund. It was the only bad experience and we toured half of the country.

The only thing good about this place is the heated pool. Otherwise this place is going down.

First of all they ignore request which was apply in booking. After long argument in reception they compensate with free dinner. We accept only because I didn’t want to disappoint my kids who was excited to come. View was amazing & I kind of calm down after all. But Cockroaches all over the room, they walk on bed!! It’s ruin our stay! Differently not coming back.

View was good and dinner only.

    A Gorgeous Mountaintop Hotel!
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Superior Double or Twin Room

This wasn't a problem per se, but a note to prospective guests that the hotel is a long drive up a steep-ish, unpaved mountain road. You could I suppose do it without a 4x4, but for comfort (and so your car isn't scraping along the rocks and craters in the road) I highly recommend renting a 4x4. The reward at the end of this long dirt road is this gorgeous hotel, though, so it's well-worth it! The hotel uses small individual soaps; it would be more environmentally friendly if they used refillable ones. The gorgeous pool closes a bit ridiculously early at 7 pm, inexplicably.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this hotel but I was absolutely blown away when we arrived! It is well-designed and absolutely gorgeous. Each room has an uninterrupted majestic view of the mountains and valley. The bathtub is divine. The swimming pool is gorgeous and the perfect temperature. The gardens and the landscaping were beautiful. The staff are very kind and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were plentiful and had many options, including for vegetarians. It is definitely worth coming for sunset! (I got up at sunrise also, but it was too foggy to see much). The stargazing is also ample. We also really enjoyed walking around the village of Al Hamra in the valley below.

The food menu needs a serious make over but we conveyed that to the hotel. Hopefully they will take comments on board because it needs attention.

This hotel was just simply amazing! Beautiful modern rooms with floor to ceiling windows with a view on to the valley and canyon. Pool is fantastic and the whole place is just so peaceful and calm. Yes it's preferable to have a 4 wheel drive to get there, but seriously, its worth driving 7km on the off track road to get there. The staff where very friendly. You will not be disappointed with this gem of a hotel!!!

So the 6k off road to get there is not for the faint hearted and I would say a 4x4 is strongly recommended. That said there are no sheer drops and having made it once, you quickly get used to coming and going.

This is that rare gem of a hotel which is so special it makes your holiday truly memorable. It’s the best place we stayed in Oman. It’s spectacular, a 180 degree view in front of you of the valley and mountains. Food was great and the staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming
