they don't notify you at check out thet the buffet does not include coffee. plus the girl at the counter tried to double charge for parking. tryp by Wyndham is around the corner its newer and nicer and cheaper. parking is included and the breakfast buffet is actually alll included no coffee fee. the staff is more knowledgeable. not a very secure hotel. the dazzler you need a room key to use the elevator. here anyone can come right up.

The cleaning was disappointing. The bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned, and they didn’t restock the toilet paper. On two occasions, we were in the room when housekeeping arrived and informed them that we would be leaving in less than 15 minutes. However, when we returned late at night, we found that the room hadn’t been cleaned at all.

The breakfast was quite good, and the pool was a nice addition.

The Hotel was good and comfortable amidst an unsafe environment with the sidewalks collapsing into open sewer drainage, cables hanging down over sidewalks and roads from the power poles. No etiquette for pedestrians and you cross roads at your own peril and when able. Public transport still operating from the 1960's. Public places of interest flagged as no go zones due to risk of being robbed. Was solicited by an elderly woman and young mother with a baby in her arms offering drugs. Open and hostile homophobia, my partner and I were watched and looked at by everyone, including guests inside the Hotel and local people outside laughing and taking photos of us and making derogatory comments as we walked past. This was also experienced in the local shops and restaurants which was quite uncomfortable and scary when outside at night.

Staff were attentive and resolved enquiries promptly. There was other guests in the hotel playing music loudly and this was dealt with within minutes. My laundry hadn't been returned when indicated and was delivered within minutes once I enquired.

Dinner in the hotel restaurant was good, but in winter, there was no heat and it was too cold. We ordered what we thought was soup and it was like corn bread. The bed was fine, but the bedside "table" was attached to the bed and about 12" lower than the bed. It was very difficult to use and turn off an alarm, or to reach for something. It is just NOT a good design. I had to get up out of bed to reach it. Also the bathroom sink is a terrible design. It's like a slide going downhill from the counter top to the drain. I you dropped anything that might roll, it would roll all the way to the drain. They could have put in a regular sink and extended the counter top to accommodate the guests bath items and personal items. There was very little room on the bath counter top and no shelves, even though there was plenty of room to add them. The "rain" shower was a bad for me. I do not wash my hair everyday. I had to splash water on myself or bend over to keep the water out of my hair. PLEASE, if you put in a "rain" shower, also put in an optional moveable hose to shower with. The electrical outlets were "worn out" and would not keep our items plugged in. They would just fall out. We had to brace something against them to hold them in. The breakfast was very good, but at the time to end, everything stopped sharply. It felt like we were told we should leave NOW. Also, the first morning we got to breakfast an hour before closing and ask for bacon since it was empty. They said there would be no more bacon and didn't refill it. The food was cold by the time we got it to our table, unless we used the "sandwich maker" which kept it fairly warm.

The staff was great and tried to accommodate us every way they could. We really appreciated them. The elevators were really fast, and we didn't have to wait long for one. The size of the room was also very good. There was a toilet and a bidet in the bathroom, even though I did not use the bidet, it would be nice for someone if they wanted one. Check in was smooth and check out was just as smooth. I needed some papers printed, and they did it very quickly and were very nice about it. I think the big winner here is the STAFF. They earned this title. While we were in Asuncion, we felt very comfortable and we talked about coming back. It's the people that make all the difference. We had a tour of Asuncion and our tour guide spoke very good English and was extremely knowledgeable. The hotel did recommend the tour company and we were very pleased with them.

Breakfast was average and I was told there was an extra charge for espresso coffee..

Nice rooms, but I was given one towards the main road, which is extremely noisy. After complaining I was given one the next day. I asked especially for a quiet room on day one, I wonder why they couldn't have just given me one. Attention to detail would have been appreciated. Staff overall was very friendly.

Hotel needs an update. The water in the swimming pool was very cold. The location is not the best one, as it is far from the downtown area.
