Weeks prior to our check in I communicated with the hotel regarding arrival and I did request an early check in as I was transiting through just for a day. My main issue was my father who had had surgery so just needed him to rest. I get to the facility and the guy who checked us in I don’t know his name but I don’t wish his type of service on anyone. He wasn’t welcoming. Went on to say in a condescending way “it’s 6am” in which in my request for early check in and we did specify it would be between 6-7am. We arrived at around 6.10am. Was told all rooms were fully booked there was nothing on the ground and that the early check outs had been uncleared. I think what really got to me the most is miraculously two rooms were suddenly available after I mentioned we were not sleeping over night but it’s just for the day, and I had to pay double the price. At this point I didn’t have a choice because had a sick parent. I’m a frequent traveler and I haven’t experienced anything like this. It’s a very beautiful place but this experience.

A little bit hard to regulate the air conditioning to an even temperature, but it was easy to cool down the room.

The design and styling was beautiful. The breakfasts were tasty and friendly staff. The pool was a treat in such hot weather. I extended my stay. I liked the bitter tea available in the foyer. Walking distance to the souk, the desert rose national museum and the fabulous museum of Islamic arts

The slope of the shower to draining the water while taking shower is done very poorly. The water is not draining it get accumulated in the shower.

The staff (Shemsa) in the reception was very helpful, and made my check very smoothly. Also breakfast the food it was varieties, and staff are willing to provide assistance as quickly as possible.

Pool was small and limited seats are available. But the life guard on duty was also helpful in letting me know which seats are available but me and my friend had to sit far from each other.

Due to the fully booked season at the hotel, they were kind enough to upgrade us from a standard room (2 twin beds) to a 1 Bedroom suite. However, we are a couple plus a friend so it was just a bit awkward to sleep beside a friend too, like we just had no choice. But again, overall, the upgrade was reasonable. The breakfast was nice but when I requested some whipped cream for my waffles (yes, they served waffles!), well we had a good laugh when they gave some cream (not-yet-whipped). That made my morning. Then the supervisor also assisted us to get paper cups for a cup of coffee to go (to bring to the room as I normally only take coffee after eating). He was so kind enough to let us do so. These small gestures really makes a 5-star hotel, 5-star. As a resident of this country, the cost is amazing considering the experience. It was a nice weekend getaway and at which does not hurt the pocket severely.

Hotel should update that hammam spa is no longer but there are Thai style massages. I really would have preferred hammam experience, that is a bit misleading. But all in all great quality, location and value for money.

I find staff in every hotel I stayed in Doha exceptional. The people behind the scenes, housekeeping make the difference. Sadim and his colleague just pleasure. Well done
