“You can basically see Bromo from the parking lot and see sunrise and sunset from there to avoid the massive crowds at the “official “ sunrise spot. After sunrise have breakfast at the Lava view Lodge just 300m down the road . They open at 7am, offer toast and jam ( if you are sick of the Nadi Goreng ) and make a decent coffee and tea.”
“Homestay 89 is in a great location. We took the Daytrans shuttle from Yogyakarta and the drop-off point is about 50m from the accommodation. The room was clean, with great aircon and wifi and it's large enough for a quick overnight. The person who ran it was really efficient and easy to reach via Whatsapp. She gave us lots of info about getting to the Ferry terminal the next morning. Fantastic service ! Town is quiet but worth a walk up to the fishing port and there are plenty of places to eat within 10 min walk. It's a buzzy little place if you can get out near the market. (One tip, pick up any supplies for the boat trip the night before as the Indomaret didn't open until 8am, which was a bit too late). At this price, it was a very good deal.”
“The owner of the house is really welcoming and kind. She fixed me the medical check required to go up on mount ijen. She gave me all the informations to be sure that my experience there was perfect and it was!
After the trekking, once at home, she prepared myself a really good breakfast!”
“Lilik is adorable, she helped us with everything.
You cam find many local warung nearby.
The room is clean and spacious, perfect before taking the ferry to Karimunjawa.”
“The family that run the guesthouse is Very Nice and Will make you feel at home. The beds are confortable and everything is Very clean. They also propose very good tour to Bromo and Ijen with amazing guide so it’s a good way to discover the area of Banyuwangi”
“We were looking for a place just out of the main centre and this was perfect for us. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, really stylish and high end. Photos capture it well but I reckon it's even better when you get there. The room was excellent: clean, modern, great aircon and extremely well presented. The whole place is put together so well, we just loved the feel of it. Location is fantastic: you can walk into the town centre easily, about 20min or so, and it's an easy, interesting walk, but also within 5 minutes you have a massive amount of choice of coffee places ( Malang is filled with incredible coffee places ! ) and places to get a bite to eat. What also may not be apparent from the listing is that this guesthouse is in the most upmarket, stylish neighbourhood, it's just a pleasure to wander around there. We loved it. And the neighbourhood also comes with fantastic restaurants, where the food is awesome and the prices are incredible!! We actually had a placed booked right in the centre of town, but we swapped to this one. Best decision we could have made.”
“We really liked the guest house style of this place. It was a chill space, where you just felt immediately comfortable and our rating of 10 is really about the way we were looked after there and what a comfortable space it was to be. The huge star of the show here is Jimmy - the guy who runs the place. He is simply the best!!! He is an absolute mine of info ( especially for food recos ) and everything he recommends is absolutely spot on. There was also a huge amount of support in so many ways, from allowing us to use the fridge, helping us to book bus tickets when the system would accept our Aussie bank cards and even fixing my phone!! Sometimes, you need a hand when you are travelling and Jimmy and his team were amazing. Then there's the location. It's in a quiet street near the Kraton area, but it's the coolest area. So relaxed and friendly, and once you poke around you will come across heaps of local places to get a bite to eat and drink. 25 mins easy walk to Malioboro St and the local market is just at the end of the street. The fruit and indo snacks there are fantastic!!
Go with Jimmy's food recommendations and you can't go wrong :)”
“Spacious rooms with Ac , Johns the host was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included and you have use of the kitchen to cook your own if you want something else than Nasi or mie Goreng :-).”
