It felt "abandoned". Very old and dark, with furniture and appliances from a few decades ago. They try to hide the smell with perfumes and they use so much perfume that you need to open a window in order to let some air in, so you can breathe. But in the end, you get what you pay for. If you're only interested in a place where you can take a shower, go to bed and then immediately leave in the morning, the place is great!

No safe in room. Not a big deal, but would be a nice-to-have. Furniture and bathroom were a little dated, but nevertheless clean so again not a significant issue.

I chose Hotel Scala for its location, whilst visiting Constanta for charity volunteering. I was looking for somewhere clean and comfortable, and it was both. There’s no restaurant at time of writing this, but I knew so before I booked. There are good restaurants nearby. I wouldn’t stay there for a holiday with my wife, but I honestly can’t fault it, and I would stay again when I next visit Constanta for a volunteering trip.

The window/door to the balcony was not sealing shut so obviously a little bit of draft (and noise from outside) was creeping in. Fridge plug was split open with exposed wires so we did not take any chances by plugging it in, thus not being able to use it. Toilet was leaking a little bit of water. The lightbulb from the hallway entrance was flickering and could only be used to slightly see your way into the room

A lot of noise from the cars and very warm rooms (AC was available but during the night is very hard to sleep with AC on), also HK team need to pay more attention regarding towels and toilet paper, 3rd day I needed to buy those things. Beds are small and uncofortable. In general good experience but far from perfect. In general Im not picky personbso thats why I handle this 4 nights somehow.

Location was good, plenty things which I need around. Staff was friendly, girls on reception and older guy in the bar area.

I was on the 5th floor and the wifi was practically not existent, the signal would die constantly, it was simply unusable and the TV had few channels with VERY poor resolution. I wanted to play my video games during my stay and it proved to be absolutely impossible thanks to such horrible wifi. The bed sheets (all of them) and curtains had blood stains on them (some looked like bed bug spots), super gross. Tight shower cabin, so if you're on the plus size, you'll have issues. Bathroom floor has no rug or anything, extremely slippery. Staff doesn't clean your room during your stay (no change of bed sheets, towels, or vacuumed floors). There's no trash can in the room.

Great location, bus stop right in front of and across the hotel, short walk to the beach and a few supermarkets, lovely view, quiet, decently clean overall (but with issues), very friendly staff (I was always greeted with a smile).

The room was cleaned every day, the location is close to the beach, the Dolce Vita restaurant and to the bus stations. In the parallel streets there are a beautiful Orthodox church and a store of Mega Image. The beach has playgrounds for kids. In 10 minutes, on the Mamaia Boulevard you can reach the turistic complex of Delfinarium and Planetarium, very close. Very helpful and polite staff, very good cleaning service personnel. The ladies for cleaning made a very good work every day. We thank to all!

Even the room has a bathtub, there is no bathtub stopper, so impossible to take a bath 🙄. The matress on bed is very thin and hard and because of size of room tv loks very small and hard to read CC.

Even though they had restaurant facilities they did not serve any food, not even breakfast. There were not any close alternatives either.

The room cleaning service entered the room on two mornings without announcing . Also members of staff could be more professional and pleasant . Despite the non smoking signs on every floor , cigarette smoke was coming from the reception, in the lift too.
