Aleksander and the staff at Arka Barka Floating Hostel were amazing! They understand the meaning of hospitality and I was made to feel welcome the moment I stepped through the door. 85 000 stars! I have stayed in hostels in 47 countries on 5 different continents, and this was by far the warmest, most genuine reception I have received in many years of travel. The place has an excellent chill vibe away from the chaos of downtown Belgrade. Don’t bother looking elsewhere if you want a fabulous, unique and alternative accommodation to the usual when visiting Belgrade. Also worth mentioning that the room rate includes a free breakfast buffet that is both filling and absolutely delicious! Try the burek and ajvar, you will not be disappointed.

Very cool hostel, not the first time here. Day one was very hot, nearly 40 degrees, but at night the temperature was OK. All rooms got brand new air conditioning! The location is nice, at the river. To walk into the old down it will take maybe 20 minutes? Near the hostel I found multiple pizza places, google for pizza with maps in that area (I was Di Napoli and Pizza Bar). The hostel offers different IPA - I tried them all.

It’s not very close to downtown (relative to the size of the city but taxi wasn’t expensive), but honestly was so relaxing. We were exhausted but loved staying up til 4 am just enjoying the river and seeing the fortress lit up.

Beautiful dock to sit and enjoy. Breakfast was good. Was a very enjoyable, but unfortunately short, stay. Hope to back soon.

Excellent experience of stay. Barka is located at a quiet park, that is just 20-25 minutes from the old town. So you have benefits of living in the nature and at city center at the same time. The hosts are very welcoming and pleasant. Thus, I have no regrets in choosing a floating hostel over a regular one.

The room is tired, it would be nice to freshen it up. The room is very small for 4 people. The bathroom is small, there is no storage space, hooks.

The staff is very friendly. Unusual hotel concept. Amazing location on the Danube river in big green park, close to shopping mall and Old City, Fortress(we go there on foot with kids, approximately 25-30 min).

No transport takes you directly there, you must walk a bit through a park.

A cool quiet hostel with extremely nice and friendly staff (and a cat who sometimes sits in the common area <3 ). They will help with any doubts or questions regarding the place or visiting Belgrade. Good breakfast with a few options in a form of buffet. Wifi works well. The location, apart from being in a peaceful park at the water, is close to the old city center - there are 2 frequent public buses with a nearby bus stop (closer than the parking) or 30mins walking across Brankov bridge - which is worth do to at least once for the views.

Arka Barka is my spot in Belgrade. The most picturesque and incredible place. Breakfast on the terrace watching the sunrise on the Danube. Magic. Fabulous vibe, wonderful friendly staff.

As others mentioned, the parking lot is a good 10-15 min walk away so just try not to forget something in the car and I hope you have nothing heavy to carry.

It was so great to wake up to this view from our lil balcony. Such a quiet and cute area, so relaxing. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was nice with quite a bit of choice.

All the staff there is lovely, friendly and unique in their own ways, it feels more like a family than a hostel. Friendliness, warmth and sincerity is what characterize ArkaBarka. This is my third stay and in my heart will always be my favorite spot to chill on the Danube, It's a most charming place where you can escape the chaos and activity of New Belgrade.

There should be like partition or curtains around each bed for a little bit of privacy. Open beds would be comfortable for families or friends. Lockers would be ideal too.

I love that the team makes you feel a part of the cosy home. Thank you to Alexander, Militsa, Milos and Lidia. You have hosted everyone at the accommodation so wonderfully well. Each of you always have a smile and can even share jokes. Each of you are knowledgeable and are always ready to find ways to help make the stay very comfortable, safe and cosy. They take their roles very seriously and I can see that they also try to take care of each other like a family would. The floating house is away from the main attraction sites and personally, I prefer a quiet and peaceful place to stay after a long day of exploring. Arka Barka provided that peace about 15 to 20 minutes bus ride away from the center. The buses are literally about 5 minutes walk away from the hostel. The views from the house is fantastic. It is serene. It is of course on a lake and there is a dragon boat right at the dock. I am sure it is pretty scenic during warmer seasons. There are seating places on the outdoor deck. The moment you enter the hostel, the warmth from each of the team members will welcome you. It is cool that the reception looks like a coffee/tea bar. If you require anything, just give them a holla and each will make it happen. Even if they couldn't, they would give alternatives as they are informative about what their guest needs. I must also say that the French toasts is one of the best I have ever tried! Each of the member always has something to do for example making sure that the place is clean and things are in order. Most importantly, guests could stay and make themselves comfortable because each of the team member makes it possible. Each room has a security pin code which is super secure! The beds in the shared room are quite comfortable and the one that I was in had a private shared bathroom. It would be an okay room for friends or families. For strangers, perhaps it would be a tad odd because there are no partitions.

I love the friendly atmosphere in the communal area. We had plenty of everything, servings as much as we needed. The surrounding is exceptional. The room is so cosy.
