Nothing not to like. I mentioned location above, and explained how to make the most of it.

An exceptional hostel - more like a boutique hotel. The hosts are very welcoming, providing and maintaining excellent facilities - tea, coffee, bread, and even croissants. Very comfy beds, lovely duvet, big rooms, and space. They are completing a 3rd (ground) floor, and have plans for a basement cinema, where, if I understood, they'll show films that are cult, quirky etc. This could be an excellent place for digi nomads, and possibly they'll include work space (we spoke briefly of this). Excellent WiFi, and rooftop seating & BBQ area. The location I liked. Very safe (as Belgrade appeared), in what seemed to be an upmarket (gentrified?) area of older style, larger, housing.. Lovely cafe down the street, 5 mins walk to Lidl, local shops, and public transport. Also close by is a stadium (basketball, not surecwhat else).The main tourist / town centres are a short bus ride to the fortress, and also Republic Square (cafes, modern shopping centre like many high street areas), which are 'this side of the Sava'. A #84 bus from Zeneli Venac (behindish the Rep. Square), takes you across the Sava to the Old Town, and the bars, and cafe area on the Danube. (pin opera theatre Madleniun]). Very popular, a lovely area. (I walked there in 90 mins, and very nice too]). This is not a 'step-out-the-door' into a tourist area place, but the connections are cheap, good, and certainly worth the stay.

Hostel owner and employee are helpful, kind people. The hostel is a 3-storey villa and has a very nice design. especially the rooms are very well designed. The beds are very comfortable, and clean. just like in 5 star hotels. the area where the hostel is located is good. (I am a frequent traveler and have stayed in more than 200 hostels so far. this hostel is in the best top 3 on my list) Love regards, Servet.

It was an amazing one of a kind experience the people were very welcoming the host are communicative and are trying always to make you as comfortable as it can be the place is beautiful it is a open space concept very warm and welcoming the cleanliness is on another level the location is the best because generally everything is close and calm a really pretty neighborhood at that. Practically everything is brand new and super clean. I absolutely loved the playful vibe with all the cabbage paintings! Another thing to note is the staff; lovely people and going over and beyond to help - thanks!

I've stayed at the Cabbage Hostel for 2 days. It was comfortable. The staff is really polite (they also speak Russian and English). New beds, clean shower and kitchen, and you have own box for food. Beautiful terrace with BBQ and workspace. The location is amazing, not far from the center. There is a supermarket nearby. I haily recommend Cabbage Hostel.

One guy from the staff was really rude - a Russian guy, wearing pink sneakers, Igor, spoiled both of my stays here. At the first one he aggressively barged into my conversation with another man after hearing my general take on certain nations after living in Germany, asking me if I was "an extremist", then tried to teach me that I had to fix the broken stuff in my country of birth, first. Then, while I was preparing toasts in the toaster out of very crumbly bread, he got really upset that I (he didn't know who exactly was making the toasts) didn't get rid of the crumbles right away. "Don't make the mess, don't you know that I have to clean here!" On the next stay he greeted me with an unfriendly remark, asking, if I was hopping between hostels - I didn't extended my stay at the other one, because it was full on the following day and returned back. Then he yelled at me, when I went with fairly clean boots on the first floor - as I urgently needed to get to the restroom, "You have to take off your shoes! Don't you know the rules?!". Like the f... Then he unloaded to some Dutchman, snacking in the dining zone and staring at his laptop, that he had obliged to go upstairs to the co-working, and then the guy had to fight back, saying that he was eating and he wasn't really allowed to eat in the co-working zone, and showed his bag with snacks and the other stuff as the proof of him dining to calm down the situation. After that I went to my room and arranged my stuff, and attempted to go out to the pharmacy. My boots meanwhile were moved from the holders on the first floor to the second one, as Igor informed me.

Convenient location in the green area with grocery stores and bus stops near, 3 floors of different spaces to recreate + mini-cinema in the basement, the smoke from the outdoors is not as dominant, as in some hostels.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOSTEL!!!! Believe I have had the worst experience ever with the most racist rudest staff, oh boy, first they say the room I booked is overbooked and say it’s not their fault, then the impolite guy who works there moved my stuff while I was outside without my consent and without even asking me or telling me, they were in a safe closed with a key, but that didn’t stop him from opening it, and then placed me in an upper bed that had HAIR on it!! The room wasn’t clean nor the bed, the water in the bathroom gets cold in a second, the room was freezing cold at night, when I asked the manager for a blanket he yelled at me in the morning because I asked, and told me to cancel and leave, he was super rude, impolite, he entered the girls room without even knocking, and when I was cooking in the kitchen he took the pan from my hand with force and hurt my hand and threw my food, also he started saying the most racist things and hateful things to me, I was alone and didn’t feel safe at all, I was shaking in fear after being attacked physically and emotionally, and couldn’t sleep all night because I was afraid he would come to the room and do something to me or my clothes, I left that morning at 6 am I couldn’t stay anymore, if you ever read this, never go to this hostel, and if the owner is reading this, please fire that horrible guy you have working there, I have a video of him attacking me and I was this close to going to the police!!! If you ever want to enjoy your trip or be safe, don’t go here!!!

If you read the bad reviews about this hostel, you will understand why I gave a negative rating. I will explain briefly. The staff is extremely disrespectful to the guests. Only the volunteers were nice, but they work like slaves. If you want to get scolded by the staff for nothing and want to walk 25-30 minutes to the city center, you can choose this place. And, if you are antisocial, this is the place for you. They need to change their hostile attitude. You can also check their responses to bad reviews; they always think they are right.

Unfortunately the staff (probably the owner) didn't make me feel comfortable. It was like I was staying in one of my neurotic friends' houses for free.... They are trying to make this place like home, I appreciate that but it's also a hostel and people are paying money. 2 main weird things for me; I arrived at the hostel a bit early around 11am. Check in was at 2pm. I wasn't expecting to be checked in that early but they said I can leave my stuff but can't wait there. I've never experienced anything like that so I had to go somewhere else for a couple of hours just to sit. Second thing is they remove shoes inside. Again it's totally fine but after a long walk from the center I had to pee right away. Then immediately I went to remove my shoes and put the slippers on. The owner came out of his room and told me to remove my shoes. I said I'm doing it right now, he said but you went to the toilet first. I didn't argue after that. I hope they don't take this as an insult but take it as a suggestion maybe they can be more friendly and bend their rules just for a bit. Not that I care about them but it's a really nice place and I saw lots of people wrote some similar stuff. Please don't argue with the people, at least in the comments here. And maybe a mosquito net on windows and doors would be a nice upgrade. I've bitten several times on the first night. Oh and music starts 9am. Other than that all good.

It's clean and looks very well-designed. Lockers are good, beds have curtains and head lamps, 20 mins walk to the center, close to the bus stops.

Unfortunately, my experience at this hostel was far below the expectations I had upon booking. Not only did I personally encounter unacceptable behavior from the staff member at the reception, but I also witnessed similar treatment towards other guests. The individual in question consistently displayed a concerning lack of respect and courtesy. The reception should be the first point of contact for guests, setting the tone with professionalism and warmth; however, what I observed was the complete opposite. The staff member was rude, uncooperative, and lacked the basic standards of decency and respectful communication.

It was the worst experience because, after a night bus ride, I was thrown out of the hostel. The manager rudely informed me that I had to leave and could only return at 2:00 p.m. She even suggested I wait from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in a café near the hostel. Other guests had the same experience, and they were also shocked. This was my first bad experience where I wasn't allowed to take a shower or to stay a little bit longer in a hostel's common area. I didn’t feel welcome at all. And the issue with shoes: you cannot wear your shoes in common areas—they offer you house shoes instead. Sorry, but that's so unhygienic, like a breeding ground for athlete's foot or other diseases. The room cannot be locked, so anyone can come in. For me, that’s no privacy. I was shocked when a male employee entered the room. He knocked so quietly that I didn't even notice. Additionally, there are only two bathrooms for three rooms with at least 18 guests, which is far from sufficient.

Unfortunately as nice as it looks, it can’t make up for the lack of professionalism and rudeness of the owner. Not only was he mean and unkind, most of unprofessional, but also controlling. He didn’t mind other people FaceTiming their friends on the speaker outside the kitchen, he only came to me and told me to wear my headphones when I talk because „it’s a hostel”. Nobody else seemed to care, just him. I turned down the volume and continued to talk although it was very rude to interrupt someone when they’re in the middle of the call. He waited until I finished my call (standing beside me all this time and purposely making noise in the kitchen, opening and closing drawers) to ask me where I’m from. When I asked what does it have to do with anything, he responded with „I just want to know for the future where such rude people come from”. Once again, unprofessional at least, also racial prejudice, it should not have taken place in a proper and professional manner. Then he has not asked me but told me that I have to cancel my stay since I can’t „obey the rules” (which were made up by him that moment prior, there was no sign telling you not to talk on the phone). He also said that my „morning gossip is not something he wants to hear.” Also, it was not the middle of the night nor the curfew. It was 9 in the morning. So fellow travelers, if you feel like being met with racial prejudice, sexism and lack of professionalism in general, this place is perfect. Control freak and weird person in general. Did not feel welcome from the start. Utterly rude and extreme situation for no reason really. Omit this place or at least the owner if you decide to stay there.

Soulless. The staff are efficient, but as friendly as a boiled cabbage. Other than being shown around on the first day, the staff never said a word to me. No hand towels near the bathroom sink.

Very clean and efficient and organised. Free tea, coffee, hot chocolate, plain biscuits and bread is a nice treat.

There are many super strict rules that often make no sense. The hostel owner is sometimes very rude to the guests.

The hostel is extremely clean. The kitchen is suuuper great. There also is a great big workspace on the 3rd floor. The location is unusual for a hostel (it's in a quiet district), but I liked it.

The beds are pretty uncomfortable, and there are too few showers in my opinion which are also for everyone. They are not separated by gender. Finally, unfortunately, the staff weren't the friendliest. One of them would give a smile here and there but others zero.

The climate problem. There was very stuffy in sleeping room. In the small room for 3 person big radiator was very hot and windows were closed. When I opened the window it got better, but I'm not sure if the neighbour who slept close to that liked it. Staff seems me a rude and not hospitable. 1. I was assigned to the top bed (with neighbour) when there was a vacant bottom bed (but after my request, they moved me downstairs). 2. A member of staff reprimanded me for entering the room in my shoes, although I had to get slippers from my luggage. He said he was mopping the floors and looked like a Soviet cleaner. However, the rooms above the ground floor cannot be called clean (especially the stairs and the co-working area). Also, I can't leave my personal slippers at the entrance because someone else might use them. 3. Finally, at 11:53, a staff member reminded me that it was time to check out. I had already remembered that. I felt embarrassed by this unfriendliness.

It's cozy hostel located not far from the city center. It has everything you need for a short-term stay. Especially I like well-equipped kitchen and a common area with tables. They have lockers for each guest, it's very convenient. Each bed is covered with a curtain, this is very practical.

The location is quite far away from the centre of Belgrade so I’d recommend staying somewhere else if you want proximity. It’s a very antisocial hostel with no events etc (although they claim to have them) and minimal “vibe”. My main issue with this place is the way they operate/the staff - there is no formal reception but just a closed door that says “staff only” - you literally have to knock or hope it’s open if you want any service. The staff are unfriendly and act like it’s a huge undertaking to help you (e.g. with doing washing or booking a cab). Also, I booked an all female dorm and after they tried to put me in a mixed (no stress, I let them know) male staff members continually came into our dorm to chat with the female staff member who was staying there, at any and all hours of the day. The point of an all female dorm is so women feel safe and unfortunately this impeded that.

Dorms and common spaces are well equipped and clean. The neighbourhood is friendly — I felt safe walking home at night. Cute little front entrance area so you can sit and have dinner or drinks outside.
