How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We liked everything!
After many years we visited this hotel again and the welcome by the staff at check-in was overwhelming. We received an upgrade of the room, a complimentary welcome drink and some great cookies too which we decided to order and take home with us. A special and big compliment for Anita, her personal and empathic approach was very much appreciated. When you are looking for a place in middle of the center with great services, book the Carlton!

Check in could have been better. Arrived early at 10am but did not get our room key til after 3. However the hotel did arrange for our bags to be stored while we waited for our room.
Breakfast buffet had a wide range of food and juices to choose from. Location of the hotel was close to shops restaurants and the Old Town. Massage and wellness facilities were fabulous.

Prices in the Mirror Bar are still overpriced…
As always a fantastic experience with a super nice surprise: the welcome card as a second home! Thanks Natalia & the front desk team for this! ♥️ and yes, I am visiting a lot Bratislava and have no second thought about where to stay: here 🎯 Tim is running the show at Gym with Peter and getting more and more confident in his job. Cool potential! He makes sure the wellness area is super clean for use! The restaurant team made to service my friends from abroad exceptionally great! They love it and will probably come back next time.

No communal lounge unlike most other hotels. A handful of small tables and chairs available but in the reception area so not very comfortable or relaxing. Restaurants available to sit in but not great for sittings with friends and families to spend some time together without eating.
Location and comfort. Terrace a wonderful feature. Gym and sauna excellent.

The only downside was the entrance being frequently blocked by cars whose drivers were neither checking in nor unloading luggage. Some of these vehicles were parked for hours, which caused issues for guests — especially during check-out. Taxis also had trouble leaving the drop-off area, and we had to move our car several times just to manage our luggage. This was quite frustrating and something the hotel should address.
Great Stay in a Hotel with Character We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, right in the center, and there is convenient parking available. The bed was very comfortable with high-quality bedding, which made for a great night's sleep. The staff was helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The decor of the hotel has a retro style, which adds charm and character — it really feels like stepping back in time, in a good way! Our room was quiet and well soundproofed, with a lovely view of the city center. Breakfast was delicious and offered a good variety of options. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

Stunning hotel- fabulous facilities. Very kindly was upgraded to a superior room with access to terrace on balcony. Was a lovely surprise! Hotel is centrally located close to all tourist attractions. The reception staff were particularly kind. I would thoroughly recommend.
