How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Tired, we stayed in a new Blu Monkey and it was wonderful, this one needs an update.
Blu Monkey hotel so know there will be certain standards - others we have stayed in have been great

For me the bed was too soft, otherwise everything was perfect.
Spacious and clean room. The hotel is on a side street so it's quiet during the night. The staff is nice and helpful too. All in all we had a nice stay there and would stay there again.

There is no place for clothes ,we had 3 hangers. The water dispenser was out of worder,and you have to go to the first floor ,when the building don't have lift. In the evening was nobody at reception and not drinking water remain for dispenser.a new one near will help.

No tea facilities in the room. Water dispenser on floor was broken, one down at reception was out of water frequently and sometimes didn't boil the water. Lights off at reception at night, difficult to see. Shower curtain and toilet seat were dirty/had stains

Everything smells of humidity: the room, towels, etc. The bathroom has filtration issues. The door locks were unreliable. The front door was open all night. The facilities are not well-maintained, so be prepared for basic things to not work at all or to be in poor condition.

AC was the loudest one i have ever heard. I bet it was not cleaned/maintained a long time ago(if it ever was). Bathroom was dirty and smelly.

Sadly we checked out before we stayed our first night and the room was swarming with mosquitos. In their defence, they brought a plug in to try and help but sadly we weren’t happy staying there. Fine if you’re ok with this and want a cheap option! But be wary if you’re not keen on bugs as the building is still under construction.

We loved the location of the hostel. It’s just a 10-minute walk from the pier but far from clubs and bars, which makes it much more comfortable. The rooms were very clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. The staff were super attentive and helpful! I definitely recommend it.

It was a far walk from the pier about 15/20 minutes in the heat with backpacks on was hard, the bathroom did flood only a little as the shower draining was slow.
Such a great location about 5/10 min walk to the beach and shops. The lady next door does the best rotis!! Our room was very spacious, modern and clean.

Paint all peeling in bathroom, dirt and bugs too. Receptionist was lovely but the cleaner had to clean the other bed in my twin room as my friend had got it sandy and spilt a drink. While changing the bed she put all the dirty sheets on my clean bed and then got angry that I now needed it changing from her mistake as I don’t want to sleep in sand. She tried to just plump the pillows before I explained I needed it completely changed.

No daylight in the room, facing a wall! Couldn’t tell if it was day or night! Towels didn’t smell fresh and no face towels, just body towels. Interior worn out, especially bathroom.
Comfy bed and pillows. Great location - quiet but still 10 mins to ferry pier.

The air conditioning was very noisy and the view from the window was of green corrugated iron sheets. It's a 10 minute walk from the pier, as you get close there's a small stream or storm drain, which smells so bad I nearly threw up. To be fair the smell doesn't reach the actual hotel.
