Boasting a sauna, Residenz Hugo is situated in Bad Schandau. Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property. The apartment is modern, stunning and very well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The apartment is impeccably maintained and clean as well. The location is perfect for walking around Bad Schandau and having a parking space makes it convenient to drive to explore the surrounding areas.

After arriving on the night train and riding up into the hills on hired mountain bikes to get here, we were able to check in early which was a blessed relief! (Note - The route that Google maps gave us on our bikes went off-road, and we had to walk part of the way uphill as it was too steep to ride the mountain trail, especially with our backpacks. You can also catch a local bus to the village to get here). The apartment was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. The kids spent most of their time outside roaming up the hiking paths or riding their bikes up and down the hilly streets in the quiet village. This accommodation is on the edge of the village near the top of a hill and the view is lovely out towards the forests and mountains. We came in early spring and the trees were just starting to green up so I can see it would be even more spectacular in late spring and through summer and autumn. There were probably a dozen or so campers at all stages of life using the grounds with their tents and vans, as well as others staying in apartments, and it was peaceful with a feeling of camaraderie, no loud voices or music, just people chilling and a few kids roaming around doing kid stuff. This village and accommodation was a big contrast to Bad Schandau, which was literally crawling with cars and tourists (we were there over the Easter long weekend), and we were so glad we had not stayed in town but on this calming and chill mountainside.

Alte Bäckerei Königstein Aparthotel er staðsett í Königstein an der Elbe. und Café er nýlega enduruppgert gistirými, 1,5 km frá Königstein-virkinu og 6,4 km frá Saxon Sviss-þjóðgarðinum. The place is very cosy, comfortable and freshly-renovated, at the very center of Königstein, with a view of the Königstein fortress. I chose it mainly because it was pet-friendly, and we traveled with our cat who turned out to be their first feline guest. The staff was really helpful, and accommodated all our requests, even helped me order a surprise birthday cake for my husband. Thank you to Sylvia for bearing with all my questions and showing incredible hospitality!

One of my favourite places I can remember staying. Staff were generous with their time and kind about helping us work out checking in late and charging our electric car. We very much enjoyed the stunning sauna which we booked for personal use both nights we stayed. The kitchen was very well equipped also, everything brand new, high tech and spotless.

Fährmannhaus býður upp á útsýni yfir ána en það er gistirými staðsett í Bad Schandau, 4,2 km frá Saxon Sviss-þjóðgarðinum og 11 km frá Königstein-virkinu. I stayed here with my 5 year old daughter and I really loved the nice playground right in front of our apartment. I also loved that it was right by the ferry so we could easily cross when we wanted.
