The village of Batigama is also very authentic - there are almost no large or even medium-sized hotels, just small houses where local people live and also other small guesthouses. At the same time the guesthouse is very near to the main road that connects all the resorts on the southern coast. The best beaches in the area are Turtle beach in 5 minutes walk (good for relaxation and turtle watching) and Hiriketiya beach which is 3 km away and has bigger waves and surf lifestyle vibe. The family who owns the house is very nice. They make delicious breakfasts and also can help with useful information, such as public transport schedule or facilities in the village. The owners also have a dog that is super cute and friendly!

Spotlessly clean, spacious room in nice design, jungle-feeling with monkeys on your doorstep, best breakfast, super relaxing massage, wonderful pool. Ah, and perfect location in Hiri. Great, very friendly & helpful staff. All in all just perfect.

What truly made the stay exceptional was the hospitality of the hosts 🤗. The aunty and uncle who live next door are incredibly kind and always ready to help with a warm smile 🧓👵❤️. Sand Dollar House Hiriketiya Apartment se nachází v destinaci Dikwella a nabízí zahradu a terasu. There are so many things to love about this place. Firstly, the family who run it are wonderful, kind, accommodating, helpful and generous. Secondly, the large apartment is super comfortable and beautifully designed with a gorgeous outlook into the trees. It has a kitchenette and a desk with windows opening out to nature, where you will get to watch birds and monkeys while you work. There is also a small balcony - a superb spot for morning coffee - and a roof terrace. Thirdly, it is only a 5-7minute walk from the beach with so many great restaurants and shops really close by, but because it is tucked up a small road amongst a nature setting there is no traffic noise and you get blissful peace and quiet away from the tourist buzz. It is perfect for short term or long term holidays and also deal for digital nomads and people who teach yoga online. Sand Dollar House is definitely my first choice, not just for Hiriketiya Bay but for Sri Lanka on the whole. You really don't need to shop around - book here, you'll love it.

Zeleny Retreat Home Stay se nachází v destinaci Matara a nabízí ubytování s balkonem a bezplatným Wi-Fi. The property had two large bedrooms with air conditioning and conjoined bathrooms. This was perfect as I was travelling with a friend. We particularly liked the upstairs private balcony !
