This is an old 19th century barracks from when the fortress was in active use. As such it's a pretty interesting look into what a building like that is like, highly uneven floors and all. The old fortress is on an absolutely gorgeous peninsula into lake Vättern; I could see the lake's inlet from my window. The area has a bunch of spots of historical interest. The window actually consists of two separate windows behind one another so I could open the inner one to help the heat leave a bit without letting in mosquitoes.

Very pleasant stay in a beautiful, historic farm house, situated a short walk away from the castle and the city centre of Vadstena. The building has been carefully rebuildt by the owners of this B&B, a very friendly and welcoming couple. In the morning we had also a lovely breakfast in the common kitchen. I could prepare my own tea and breakfast. There was space in the shared fridge. The room was clean and comfortable. The common rooms were very nice! The garden was lovely! The sisters friendly and helpful.

Really nice hotel for a overnight stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is perfect and the bed is very comfortable. The breakfast is good, has everything we need. There is also parking and charing in the place. There is also public parking just around. The charing work very smoothly. There are some books and toys for the little one.
