Rooms were spacious with excellent desks and chairs and wardrobes, beds were comfortable, bathrooms and sheets spotless and a wonderful garden. Excellent wifi. We hired a brilliant English speaking guide and a boat pilot for the week through the lodge (additional to the accommodation costs) and they organised an itinerary to tour the local area and beyond. The food was great and varied (beef/chicken/pork/fish etc), including local fish that we caught in the day. It was amazing to live in the riverside community if only for a week, and we hope to come back in the wet season when the water is higher and the landscape has changed.

The staff is friendly, the food is fantastic, and the location is just at the heart of the rainforest, which was exactly what I was looking for. Good for relaxation, there is no internet or signal at the cottage, which allows for social media detox. However, broadband is available near the main building/restaurant if you can't live without internet. I was able to do a couple of web/video calls to my office early in the morning before going deep into the forest.
