1,2 km frá Air Manis-ströndinni, The view padang, Amazing view, food, drink, sleep, transport, í 8 mínútur Mentawai-hraðferjan er nýenduruppgerður gististaður í Padang. The hospitality is great! Easy communication with the host. Robert was great at getting back to me with questions I had. The place is very clean, comfortable bed. I had an excellent meal there. Hot shower. The view is beautiful. The place is located in a more secluded area, not near the city but very close to the ferry.

Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa er staðsett í Bukit Lawang og býður upp á fjallaútsýni, veitingastað, öryggisgæslu allan daginn, bar, garð, sólarverönd og lautarferðarsvæði. Gotong Rotong bus station and convenience store are located about 10 to 15 mins away by foot. The quiet villa with nice ambience is tucked away from town. Padi fields just a few minutes walk from the villa. Tyson, Dedek and team are super friendly. Their dog Balu is a charm. They are able to organize trips to the jungle, Tangkahan, transport and etc. It's like a one-stop villa for everything. The room is of good size and bed is very comfortable. Restaurant in the villa serves good food. (One can always replenish drinking water in the restaurant.) There is no need to walk out for meals. In any case, not much choices available near the villa unless one goes to Bukit Lawang. Bukit Lawang town is 20 minutes walk from the villa walking pass local residences. If not, one can take a motorbike to the town. The jungle trek organized by Tyson comes with a friendly and knowledagble guide and assistant. Saw 2 orangutans during the trek and also a few monkeys. Trek is tough and it's goes uphill and downhill. One ought to be fairly fit. Highly recommend Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa.

SeaGate Bungalows í Sabang býður upp á gistirými, einkastrandsvæði, garð og garðútsýni. Stayed a week at Seagate and had the most wonderful time. Yuyun and Borja are absolutely amazing host, they are always making sure that I’m comfortable and I have everything that I need. The room is clean, there is hot shower and aircon that works well. Yuyun is also an amazing cook and makes the most delicious chilli, do give it a try if you can take the heat.

Sumatra Cheeky Monkeys er staðsett í Bukit Lawang og býður upp á gistirými með setusvæði. Gististaðurinn er með aðgang að verönd, ókeypis einkabílastæði og ókeypis WiFi. I stayed at the place for 2 nights, had a great tour with two guides working with the cheeky monkey. We saw monkeys, Orangutans(my two guides found them after about 2 hours of Trekking in the jungle), turtle, insects, plants, did a great tour for one day. Including rafting for about +/- 50 Euros/USD. The food in the cheeky monkey is quite expensive compared to other places in bukit lawang but it was really good. It definitely a recommendation, try the Gado-Gado - a vegetarian food. Chris from Austria

Kupu Garden Guest House & Cafe er staðsett í litla þorpinu Bukit Lawang á Sumatra-svæðinu. Þetta boutique-gistirými er staðsett við hliðina á Bohorok-ánni og á móti Mount Leuser-þjóðgarðinum. We had the most amazing time at Kupu Kupu. The guesthouse is so beautiful, the rooms are very clean and well-designed and the food is incredible. With the jungle at the doorstep, we really enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watch the monkeys play in the trees - it felt like we were in paradise! After two nights at the guesthouse, we did a 3 day / 2 night jungle trek our guides Wanda and Juli, which was an incredible experience. Wanda has so much knowledge about the jungle and all the living beings in it - he had a story to tell about any animal or plant we found, we enjoyed our talks with him so much! Both guides took very good care of us and always made us feel safe and well! After rafting (fun!!!) back to Kupu Kupu on the last day of our trek, we stayed at the guesthouse for one more night to relax and process our experience 🌿 Special thanks to Arif for organising everything for us (helping us with the itinerary from the airport and onwards to our next destination, picking us up from the town and organising the jungle trek) and to Risky for making us feel right at home 🙏
