Wow! Where do I start…. This place is AMAZING! Parsons Hilltop is comprised of 4 “tents” and a shared lodge, all I would describe as authentic luxury. The “tents”, whilst having canvas walls (your door is a zipper), have thatched roofs, super comfy double beds and a fully plumbed, tiled bathrooms (certainly like no tents I’ve been in before!!!) The views are stunning, and as an unfenced camp you do have some unexpected visitors, which makes the experience so authentic. The food is delicious and plentiful, and we experienced some SA specialities. As a solo traveler, I was lucky enough to be in camp with two other solo travelers, who have become friends! Two of the main reasons I had a wonderful time are Estalie (camp host) and Wiehahn (game drive guide)… what these two don’t know about the reserve isn’t worth knowing. They are two of the loveliest people I have ever met, and made my first Safari so very special! (Mirjam… protect these two at all costs!!!)

Excellent bush camp immersed in the local environment. The staff were wonderful and the food was very good. Game drives were well run by an expert guide. The layout of the camp means that you get a real feeling of having no barriers between yourself and the wildlife. There were plentiful Elephants, Kudu, Bush Buck, Impala and other small game. Birdlife was amazing and we saw Hippo, a leopard and other small cats. In the morning many animals appeared at the watering hole while we were having breakfast after the morning game drive.

What an amazing place, beautiful spot, incredible staff, wonderful food.. every detail thought of and yet super relaxed feel to the whole place. By far the best safari camp I have stayed at. Temba and Polite were the most brilliant guides/trackers.. learnt so much from them and so many great animal/bird sightings. I really hope to return.

We loved the intimacy of the Sausage Tree Safari Camp , the friendliness of the entire staff, the great quality of the food and the perfect location in the middle of the Balule Nature Reserve. A special thank you to Themba and Jimmy for the great morning and evening game drives. It was amazing how close we could get to the wildlife.

The location of our villa was right on the river, we could watch animals drink and play right from our hammock! The game drives were really cool! Staff amazing, guides amazing, really loved it here. The little sunset stops for wine on the drives were so fun too and the bush dinner Oh my days. Just book it you wont be disappointed.
