The host Hugo and his family were so nice and always available if we needed anything. The bed even had a mosquito net which was great for sleeping so we didn’t need to worry about any mosquitos. The food was delicious. I can only recommend staying at Popochos Beach.

The accommodation is simple but comfortable and clean. The family that run it are really lovely people and we felt well looked after. Terlis made us nice food and Henry took us out on his little boat to see the whales. Listening to the sounds of the jungle at night and watching the whales passing by from the balcony was a magical experience. At the moment there are only a few rooms so we were the only guests for some of our stay, which made it all the more special. It’s worth bringing more cash than you think you’ll need - there are no ATMs and they only accept cash - plus you’ll need money to pay for meals at Selva Mojada (there’s nowhere else nearby to get food) as well as any activities you do.
