The Vilvoorde Lodge offers modern rooms with free WiFi in the wing of an historic building. This former house of correction has a 24-hour front desk and is located 15 minutes’ drive from Brussels. For us it was a perfect stay. We had to come for a fast visit and it gave us the best value for the price. The rooms were clean and healthy. It was so nice that we could still have a drink later in the evening. The breakfast was excellent. Parking places area 😕 in available with cheap day tickets.

Enjoying green surroundings in the Sonian Forest, B&B Hippo-Droom in Hoeilaart features an on-site restaurant, a bar, a tour desk and free WiFi access. For us this was a great location on the edge of the forest, with easy access to the ring road and Rhode St Genese. Used to be part of horse farm/stable, so lots of unique character and very comfortable rooms in former stalls. The owner explained ongoing improvements for even more comfort. Free parking available on site. We took a daily walk on trails in the forest, which was lovely.

Thermae Boetfort is a 400-year old castle domain which offers elegant yet rustic rooms, both inside (superior & deluxe) as well as outside (classic) of the castle domain. Incredible thermal baths in old renovated castle. I liked everything about this place. I’ve been too many thermal baths all over the world and this is by far one of the better ones. There are two parts. One of them being clothing optional. The clothing optional part is indeed a bit larger. Most people wear a towel around their waist, so no problem. Lots of choices of steam rooms, dry saunas, whirlpools and baths. I ate at the restaurant and was very satisfied. Food was a high quality. Service was excellent.
