It was centrally located. The room was comfortable and clean. It had a heated pool and the staff was friendly. We will definitely stay there again when we return to Auckland.

Everything what might be needed was there. An air condition made the high temperatures bearable. The breakfast was freshly prepared to our wishes and delivered to our room. Sandy and Glen were very helpful. We felt welcomed. The beach is just across the street and invites for a late evening and morning swim. I wished we could have stayed for longer.

VR Queen Street is a 10-minute walk from Auckland University and The Civic Theatre. It is a 15-minute walk from Sky City Casino, Auckland Hospital and Ponsonby Road. Auckland Harbor Waterfront is a 5-minute drive away. The ambiance says it all. From the staff, location and accessiblity. The room is well maintained and its clean. I love it and will surely recommend this hotel.

The restaurant offers local New Zealand cuisine, and features a cooking station with over 20 different ingredients for the chef to cook a custom meal. An extensive selection of wines, cold beers and snacks are on offer at the stylish bar. It was very good, staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were spacious and clean and comfy. Food was excellent, remember to book for dinner. Breakfast had a proper gluten free section with separate toaster and good alternatives. Lots of choices. My only comment t would be that there was no decaff coffee and I paid extra for mine.
