Everything was perfect. Quiet. The location is right on the Camino Del Norte, close to restaurants, bars and the beach.

Clean, location as close to beach, nice simple decor, easy electronic check in process, decent toiletries and shower and good towels. First stop before setting out on Camino so wanted something simple but relaxing.

We had been travelling for two weeks in Northern Spain and were delighted to spend the last night in this establishment that despite its rural and traditional setting it provided a high level of comfort, service and charm.......excellent!! PS. Plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants close by.

Unfortunately (and I am only posting this review as there is no way to stop the requests from the website for a review) - we never got to stay here. We arrived after a very long drive from Bordeaux and often updating our arrival time via the website but on arrival we were told that the room we had booked had a problem with the water so we could not stay (no other rooms appeared to be available). It was a real shame as it looks a lovely place. The person who met us on our arrival did his best to help book us another hotel some way away in Noia. This was OK but more expensive, breakfast was not included and there was no restaurant. I am not sure why we could not have stayed elsewhere in Escalante. To summarise, helpful staff but sadly we were unable to stay.
